This offer is dependent upon the Grizzlies picking up Derrick Rose or possibly Jerryd Bayless in the draft to man the PG spot for the future....
If so, would the Pacers have any ability to get Conley? I'm looking at your roster, and you guys really don't have any bad contracts. Shortening Cardinal's deal to an expiring this year would be nice, but that's about it. Could the Pacers get Conley for a deal that would consist something of along the lines of Conley/Cardinal for Foster/Daniels/Diogu and the Pacers 1st rounder, projected to be about #11, depending on how the lottery works out? Foster expires and Daniels has a team option that you could certainly pass on, thus making him an expiring contract. You could then possibly pick up a DeAndre Jordan to grow with Derrick Rose, and Ike Diogu to team up with Hakim at the PF spot, and Foster to help tutor at the center/pf rotation while providing solid leadership for a year, at least. Daniels could either be bought out, or he could be held on as a safety measure in case certain guys get injured/aren't effective, etc.
In all actuality, is there any way to get Conley without giving up Granger or JO? I'm sure you wouldn't have interest in Dunleavy as well with Mike Miller and Gay handling the wing spots.
I don't think there's any realistic scenario where we'd take a PG not named Rose in this draft - so the premise of your deal is just not solid. With that said, if we somehow land Rose, then I think Conley becomes very much available - and that package is competitive.
The more likely scenario, however, is that we don't land Rose - and IMO Lowry is available. Obviously, he's not the same type of player as Conley - but acquiring him is much more feasible than Conley.

Yes, Lowry is always much more affordable than Conley. I might do a Diogu for Lowry swap straight up, but that's about as good as Indy could do. Conley would, obviously, be the main attraction in Indy as his hometown. He played some serious high school ball on the northeast side of Indy and would be welcomed back with open arms.

I would think Wilcox might have slightly more value than that.
Not only is he a decent big but he's young and on a relatively small contract that is expiring.
He'd be a real good chip to use to move up in the draft to get a player they wanted.
For instance if Memphis were picking higher in the draft than Seattle and were willing to move down, Wilcox could help get that done. Provided we could still get the guy we wanted.

If Conley is going to eventually be a bust, this offseason is your last chance to trade him and get good value. I suspect that he will be exposed next year "IF" he's not going to develop. It will be obvious next summer if he's going to be a Star or not.
IF the Grizz get the #1 or #2 pick and Rose is on the board, you take Rose and move Conley. No brainer. You can get something good for Conley this offseason, but perhaps not next offseason when he's been exposed.
Lot's of IFs there. No "If" when it comes to Derrick Rose. I KNOW he is going to be a studd. His mid-range game alone is worth the price of admission.

since Nuggets fans are really mad with Melo, what do you guys think about this trade?
Memphis sends: Mike Miller, Mike Conley, Javaris Crittenton, LAL pick (#27)
Memphis receives: Carmelo Anthony
Denver sends: Melo

Would Memphis consider:
Andrea Bargnani
Jorge Garbajosa (5 million expiring)
Jamario Moon
for
Mike Miller
anyone of your PGs. (Lowry, Navarro, Crit)
Bargnani definitely has the talent, he just needs a new environment, at the end of his rookie season he was averaging around 16-6, but this season he has struggled. A new environment would do him wonders.

You really have to question the judgment of anyone who could still be a Republican...
Anyway, as a Wiz fan I think we should try to get the Lakers' pick from ya'll. Do you think you'd be open to trading it? What do you think it would take? Is Pecherov + returning the first you owe us from JCN a fair offer?
