Do you think the Grizz will make a push for Okafor?

The Grizzlies are under the cap. They'll have approximately 9.55 million to spend, by my calculations. If you have some more accurate calculations, please post them.

However, with that 9.5 million, and the fact that the Bobcats balked at paying Okafor a big money extension, do you think you'll pursue him? You could offer him a contract starting at 9.5, with raises of 10.5%- meaning 9.55, 10.55, 11.66, 12.89, 14.24 million a year- 59 million/5 years. The Bobcats MAY match that.

If they're willing to match that, a viable option is giving Hakim Warrick away for nothing. Just give him to the Bulls or Seattle, or a team under the cap, for a trade exception(maybe a future 2nd, as well). You'll gain 1.6 more million in capspace to offer Okafor. That deal would be 11.15, 12.32, 13.61, 15.04, 16.62m, or 69 million/5 years. The Bobcats will very likely balk at that...it would very likely indicate the luxury tax in a few years for them.

So what're your thoughts? Would you pay Oak that much? Is he worth it to you? Would management do it after the Pau fiasco?

Okafor could be a good choice for us, but as allegedely said, once Charlotte offered him about 65M for 5 years, but he rejected. That means we have to try him at least 14M per year if we want Okafor. I think he is not worth that much. Of course we have another option to get Okafor with Miller trade, but Charlotte might not want to add Miller to their roster. So IMO getting Okafor is little bid hard mission, he is very fitful for our system, though.

How about getting Marion rather than Okafor. He could be on the trade block if Miami picks Michael Beasely with their #2 pick. Because Miami has eager to get Miller, this trade could be reasonable.

The thing is either Marion or Okafor is definitely helpful for Memphis.
