Grizz - Clippers Trade

Post#1 » by D' Winner Within » Fri May 23, 2008 3:01 pm

This trade is only good if Beasley, Rose, B Lopez and Mayo are no longer available for the no. 5. Assuming the Grizz wants to draft a big man like Love who is within reach at no 7 and the Clipps wants a PG which is out of reach at no. 7.
Will the Griz do this trade?

Clipps receives Cardinal and the #5

Memphis receives Thomas and #7

Thoughts?

Wow! Absolutely makes sense for the Grizz because move down two spot will not hurt them a lot if they want to draft a big man. They save some cash because of the difference in contract.

For the Clipps, moving up two spots means a lot because Bayless will not be available at #7. I think the Grizz should send some cash to the Clipps to make it more possible.

I don't see the Grizz interested in moving down any further at all unless it's for something more beneficial than this.

Where is the motive to do this? This is not pro football it is not going to make a big enough difference to move down and plus signing the #5 selection is not a problem. Then the trading of Brian Cardinal for Thomas is so none sequential that the Grizz would just pass.

Bayless being there at #5 may also be a reach since Seattle may look to draft him at #4.

Check the original post, its says "IF" Mayo, Brooks, Rose and Beasley are no longer available at #5, which means after those 4 players, every player applied for the draft is available.

It also says that IF you want Kevin Love whom all believe will be available at #7 then why not do the trade? It means, being at no. 5 or 7 doesn't affect the Grizz a lot, then why not do the trade? You dump Cardinal and save a little cash because of the contract difference between the #5 and #7.
