He seems like the obvious choice at #5.

I'd rather the Grizz select Kevin Love than Brookie-poo with the 5th pick. And I despise Love.

People are going to provoke him in the clubs- does that mean he can go around fighting them? He is going to be even more of a target in the NBA. He broke his teammate's jaw before the season started. The guy is a headcase- it's evident from his pattern of behavior. You can sugarcoat it all you want. He took money as well. Sure, it may not have an effect on his stock- I'm not saying it will. I just do not want my team selecting a player with such a history.

It's a double standard by GMs. They say that if Mayo can play, it doesn't matter what he has done. Although Brumbaugh's situation was far worse, the guy is not going to be drafted simply because of the perception that he is a headcase.

They're not excuses, they're more logical explanations. You seem to bring up irrelvant topics which don't relate to his "troublemaking" behavior. Some of the things he's done were bad, and you can't refute, but isn't it evident that he's moved on? Those were high school incidents and based on the majority of the scouts reviews, he's handled himself very professionally. You know players like Caron Butler and Amare Stoudemire have far more decorated pasts than him, and that was a contributing reason as to why they slipped in drafts. However, clearly they matured and none of that is brought up, it may have in fact made them better players. There's no point in carrying this on further because you have a totally different view on him than me. To each his own...

It's true and I guess GMs agree with you because they do not feel that his attitude merits a slip in the draft. (at least they don't publicly acknowledge it at this point) I'll accept your arguments of reform- I only thought you were presuming that there was no base for my opinion at all.

Anyway, I don't think we need a volume scorer like a Mayo or a Gilbert Arenas. We already have 3/4 point guards on the roster- two of which we should get rid of. That much I believe would be best.

I sort of feel that there is a franchise changer in the future.....so I'm dead set on attempting to influence Grizz fans to abandon this draft for next year.
