I think these rumors about them talking about trading the pick are only in case Love isn't there. If there's no Love, Mayo or Beasley, the next group of players don't excite Grizz management so they would be open to deal the pick. I don't think there's a trade if Love is still on the board.

Andy Katz is now talking about the NYK-MEM deal. As a Knick fan I'd love it but I don't see why you guys do it.

I wonder if clearing Cardinal off the books would open the door for Memphis to use some of their cap room THIS offseason on a big name FA.

Clearing Cardinal for next year would once again put them in position to have a ton of capspace next year even if they do sign a FA this year.

No - not a chance. The Grizz GM has already stated multiple times that the FA target will most likely be in next year's FA pool.

BC's contract will have much more value as an expiring next year as teams clear space for LeBron.

Who in next years FA class is worth making this stupid move for???

Chris Paul
Deron Williams
Andrew Bynum
Granger

These are the only four players that I could foresee commanding a max deal. The only other interesting players are:

Artest
McCants
Elton Brand
Maggette

McCants?? Really??

As a Wolves fan, I'd say there is 50-50 chance that we trade the #3 pick. We are okay at 2-4, but could use a true Poit Gaurd, either starter or backup, and a solid defensive Center. You seem to have plenty of PGs and pently of Big Centers with limited offensive skills. conley/lowry/Critt + Gasol/darko/collins.

So rather than trade down what would you offer to trade UP to #3 so you can take Mayo?

Just replied in another thread, but I would move

Lowry, Gasol, #28 for #3

Nope. The Wolves are hurting at the ticket office. They need something new and shiny to sell to the fans. No one on that list will get the fans in the seats. If the wolves give up the #3 the minimum in return is the #5 and something else.

How about something around Lowry, Collins and #5 for the #3 and/or misc parts. 8-)

Memphis is not giving up an expiring to have to take on some crappy deal like Jaric. Lowry is probably the only piece that you would get from the Grizz to move up to 3.

David Lee? For the fifth pick in the draft? I know Chris Wallace's track record isn't spotless but this is the pinnacle of absurdity. I'm not even a Grizzlies fan and I just threw up all over my keyboard. Do the Knicks just expect the Grizzlies to bend over and take it? I thought Diaw for the #17 and Ford was offensive, I thought Adam Morrison, Gerald Wallace, and the #9 Pick for the #2 pick was the worst trade I'd ever hear, but this is just preposterous. This trade takes the cake, it makes the Pau Gasol and KG trades seem completely reasonable. There's no way that the Knicks would accept Darko for the #6, which is just as "fair" of a trade.

Can the Cavs sneak into the playoffs?

David Lee would be too expensive, and any money that MEM saved from getting rid of Cardinal would have to go to Lee next season.

I think Minnesota got the better end of the KG deal though... no reason to throw that into Pau Gasol territory...
