I would rather do the Miller, Lowry, #5 for Banks, #2...I think giving up Conley and the #5 is just too much though...thats two top 5 picks for Beasley...I just dont like that, even if we get Cook back. Hell I would even take Banks back to do the deal above...we dont need to get rid of Conley.

Conley is our first real PG ever in my opinion. Lowry is a great backup and hustle guy too and I like him...alot, but he is gone instantly to get Beasley along with Miller and I am cool with that.

This trade would leave us as...

C-Darko/Blount
PF-Beasley/Gasol
SF-Gay/Cardinal
SG-CDR?/Crittenton
PG-Conley/Crittenton/Banks

I like it...even if we thin out our backcourt severely. Blount and Cardinal also both come off in two seasons leaving Banks as the only major contract left on the team...the contracts also expire when Rudy is up for a major new contract...perfect timing.

absolutely. I'd love to get haslem. He does this odd thing called "play defense" that we haven't seen much lately...hell, I'd almost forgotten what it looks like (except for watching Kyle L. play it some)...

No doubt, that seems ridiculous in your favor. Take it!

I think the Grizz should do whatever to have a core of Conley/Gay/Beasley/Gasol with a couple other pieces to look for another deal.

The problem is, Miami's not doing it without Conley. From what the Memphis Commercial Appeal say though, the teams are VERY far apart, and Memphis seems to be trying to get Miami to make up for the stupidity of the Gasol deal. Here's what the paper is saying:

http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/20 ... t-of-talk/

The Griz and Heat have talked for weeks about possibly swapping first-round picks. Reportedly, Miami originally sought a deal that would give them Mike Miller, Kyle Lowry and the Grizzlies' No. 5 pick. The Griz countered with a variation of that trade, only they prefer to substitute the No. 5 selection with their No. 28 pick.

According to ESPN.com, the Heat's latest proposal wanted the Griz to send Miller, Conley and the No. 5 pick for the No. 2 pick and Daequan Cook. It's a high price tag, according to sources who acknowledge the team's willingness to part with Miller and Lowry.

Another report has the Grizzlies sending Conley, Miller and the No. 5 pick to Miami for Udonis Haslim, Cook and the No. 2 selection.

So it looks like we're going back and forth and getting nowhere. That's fine with me. I'm not for watching the Heat get taken advantage of. If it's up to me, that pick gets traded in a deal involving Elton Brand, not Mike Miller...

I think this is where it ends up, but LAC picks Mayo with the #2 over Beasley, because he's so much more marketable, removes the risk of him bolting in 5 years, fills a position of extreme need, and has the star power to make the Clippers the next big thing, supplanting the Lakers and the aging Kobe as the darling of LA in a few years.

If that's true, Beasley drops to #3, and the word out of MIN is that they may very well trade that him. They'd have no interest in Mike Miller, and they really don't have a salary they dying to get rid of, so MEM is better at filling MIA's needs than MIN's. Beasley might also get dealt to LAC for Kaman + #7, or MIL for Bogut + #8, but MEM could make an offer too, particularly since they own the #5.

All of the back and forth with Miami just makes me feel like a deal will get done.

Well there was a lot of back and forth with Chicago as well and nothing came to fruition.

Sounds like this will be the third year in a row I don't purchase league pass. Thanks for the heads-up, Mike!

Man, Herrington just added a proposal in his Blog that will never happen, but makes even more sense for all involved - Miller, Lowry, Collins, #5 for Blount, Banks, Cook and the 2. There's no way in hell Heisley would accept back 2 back contracts, even though Blounts would roll off with Cardinal's.
