Really? Was there a second rounder out there that can get his shot off against anybody in the NBA?
Smith finished his rookie season ranked in the Top Ten. He kept his head up when the Wolves acquired Al Jefferson, and again shot over 56.3% last season in sporadic minutes with the worst possible fit. He hung 30 on MIL and had 36 on WAS. I can understand someone saying, "I like Lowry more than Smith" but can you tell me what reliable second rounder you could have gotten to "do what Craig Smith can do?"

Re: Lowry availible?
i think we could make the discussion about lowry easier for griz fans if they list the PF's they wouldn't trade lowry for....
on the grizzlies.com messageboard, you can mention any crappy PF for Lowry, and everybody would break their fingers typing YES.....

Again, can you list the second rounde PFs that you can expect 10 PPG at a FG 55% clip against NBA competition for me then?

first, let's get a few things clear....i'd sign craig smith to an inexpensive contract if he was a UFA (is he?)....but i wouldn't trade lowry for him....
if it meant trading lowry to get him, i'd rather buy a 2nd rounder and take the chance....
in this year's draft.....that would have been these guys.....deandre jordan, darnell jackson, joey dorsey, patrick ewing jr, nathan jawai, ante tomic, richard hendrix, devon hardin, and sasha kaun...

MIN will do that tomorrow. They need a back-up PG in case they can't keep Telfair cheaply.

Lowry's a career backup, I don't he's worth Carney and a 1st. Maybe one or the other.

Whoops! Worm Gut's right. I read that backwards, thinking we were getting a 1st. I was thinking you had WAS Top 20 protected, but it went the other way. My bad.
