I think that if Memphis took Thabeet at 2, I would move away, far away.

nope... My understanding is that Wallace has a man crush on Rubio... I think the best bet is taking Rubio and trying to trade Conley to Sacramento for Jason Thompson.

You guys would give up on a high draft pick who is just starting to come into his own though? Lets keep in mind Rubio needs at least a few years to develop into a quality PG. Rubio has better upside than Conley for sure, but I am just not sure if its the smart thing to do.

By and large Grizz fans think Thabeet is a bum. Chad Fraud infuriated the masses in Memphis with his idle banter.

Did you read the link MemphisX posted on 3SOB? Funny stuff. Here's some insight into Chad Fraud...

Re: Thabeet at #2?
And Rubio needs time to develop......
Thabeet has made some considerable strides, no doubt. But, he is certainly not the right fit for the Grizz organization. Sure, he brings a shot blocking presence that few can match. But, personnel-wise, are we giving up on Marc? I highly doubt that he is going to fit in at the PF slot. Thabeet is a liability offensively and he has gotten eaten up inside by stronger players ie Dejuan Blair. What do you think NBA bigs bring to the table? Many of them are as big as Blair, and some are more athletic. I'm just not buying Thabeet for our organization.

Re: Thabeet at #2?
God hope no.
Rubio is the #2. If he played in NCAA, he would be the consensus #1 in any of the past drafts since 2003. He is that good. He´s the second coming of John Stockton.
And Rubio is already in the NBA level, he´ll develop in an pereniall all star.
I´m not concerned about the adaptation time, cause with his BBall IQ, he could play with anyone since day 1

Re: Thabeet at #2?
I'm a little worried about him defending with these handcheck rules etc. He has tremendous hands, but I wonder if he has the lateral quickness to stay with some of the quicker point guards. At the very least, I expect him to hold his own on this end of the floor though.

Even if MEM secretly liked Thabeet at #2 over Rubio (and I just can't imagine that scenario), picking him at #2 is out of the question. Surely SAC would prefer rubio to Thabeet, and MEM would then do a pick swap, where SAC gave them lots of good stuff, rather than just pick Thabeet at #2.

Your team needs a PF. You need a veteran not a rookie. You need to do what I suggested and see if you can get Amare Stoudemire from Pheonix and pimp the hell out of this pick. Your team does not

Your team needed Blake

You need to hit a home run. The Blazers will keep coming for Conley and you go tell them to screw off! Wallace used to work for Portland so he and Pritchard will work something out, but you do not give in to Portland if you can help it.
DO NOT

I begged

But those fools

But keep him (Conley)and decide between Gay and Mayo as to who goes with this pick to get a stud like Amare. To me it is just that simple.

They way your team does not draw fans you will not be able to max both Mayo and Gay anyways, much less Conley! You need to look at the big picture. You like my team won't have a team much longer

So one of those three has to go along with Milicic's deal unless you start winning and drawing fans! So you must make a deal like this one to get a guy like Amare.
And I am certain the Suns will listen to any deal netting them a #2 overall pick and Mayo or Gay. Hell, they could simply replace Amare with Thabeet or Jordan Hill who went to Arizona!
LOL the more I type this the more I am convincing

Every great team has 3 great players. Gay, Amare and Conley spells Danger! You can use the other picks you have to fill in needs. But you got Arthur and Gasol and you could draft a backup Center.
But launce Mayo, Milicic, Warrick, and that overvalued #2 in a weak draft to get Amare and see if the Suns will bite.

Memphis by the way they draw fans does not need a "lot of good stuff" they are set with their core.
They need a veteran with this pick. Just one. And a good to great one. I say they go after Amare and woo the Suns.
Pieces from the Kings will cost money. You need to worry about maxing out Gay and then Conley or Mayo down the road. You can't tie up money in foolishness...in this economic landscape in sports.
You need to pick now who your core is going to be and stick with it and get fillers around them... right now!
OKC has Durant, Green, and Westbrook who I think they need to even look to shop and keep the guy they get from this draft. I don't think Westbrook is the type or PG they will be needing moving forward...
But I might be prejudice because I would love Westbrook for my Bucks...But they should go with Thabeet in OKC and your team should trade down and get a veteran who will come there even for one year...
Now that I think about it, Amare is an expiring but I WOULD STILL GO GET HIM IF I WAS THE GRIZZ!

We're set with a core that cannot make the playoffs?

WOW! I think that not even Grizz fans put so much hope in Conley!
