Now, now SD - not so fast - everyone knows high school is for chumps. 5 Stars earn their stripes on the AAU circuit, where Latavious excelled.

Here's some AAU footage for reference:

That's a given fact. With AAU, Williams would excel in the league since it focuses on the offensive side of the ball. And given his strengths listed in the paper. No surprises there. I wonder though is there more to the guy like if rebounds or defensive minded is part of his routine or is he just a one dimensional player. We have enough of those wit the Tigers right now.

The Tigers are lookin to France to sign their latest recruit.

Martin Ngaloro, a 6-foot-8 small forward from France, signed a Letter of Intent with the Tigers before the May 20 deadline and arrived in Memphis on Sunday night for a visit to confirm the match. It's highly likely he'll be announced as the newest Memphis signee in the coming days.

"I'd like to come here," Ngaloro, 20, said Monday. "I already signed the papers, so it should be OK. I think that it's the right place to be."

Ngaloro, who is making his third trip to the U.S., hails from Grenoble in the Alps region of France. He went to a basketball academy in Spain last season and said Pastner contacted his coach to express interest in bringing him over. The Memphis coaching staff had evaluated Ngaloro on videotape but wanted to have face-to-face contact before he officially joined the team for 2009-10.

Ngaloro said he wanted to play NCAA basketball rather than pursue professional opportunities in Europe, even though American college basketball is not televised in his country. Virginia Tech had also been in contact with him, he said.

"In France, we can't watch it, but I try to follow some teams on the internet," Ngaloro said. "I think I need to really get better, and I think it's the right place to keep working on my skills and everything, so I think it's the right place."

A big, skilled and mobile forward, Ngaloro compares favorably to current Tiger swingman Wesley Witherspoon, who will be a sophomore next season. He will become the third player in the Tigers' 2009 recruiting class, joining junior college big man Will Coleman and power forward Latavious Williams.

Add "Born Ready" Lance Stephenson and Momo Williams (if/when he decommits to USC) and the Tigers have a top 10 recruiting class again.

Pastner has a lot to prove than just the recruits he's been bringing in. One question though. How do some of you think of how Pastner managed to bring in a French native to the Tigers squad?

All I can say is "WOW". Signs Williams, brings in Ngalaro and gets commits from the Barton brothers for 2010. If he is able to land Joe Jackson - he'd be on a roll.

TMZ reported that King of Pop singer Michael Jackson has passed away of cardiac arrest. It's very surreal to hear news like that. The guy was a musical genius during the 80s' and early 90s'. Had an unorthordox personality, but had the brains to make music. He will be missed by many.

RIP

Former Tiger great and Grizzly Antonio Burks was shot tonight and is in critical condition:

Word on some of the Tigers' message boards is that he's cleared surgery and expected to make a recovery.

I hear about it on the news tonight. It's terrible that it happened to him. I'm glad to hear that he's recovering from the shooting. Hopefully the cops will catch up to the guys responsible anf get them off the streets.

U of Memphis vacates the 07-08 season.

Derrick Rose - free as a bird
John Calipari - got a big fat raise
RC Johnson - still gainfully employed
Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier - treated like trannies on open cell night at 201 Poplar
Delusional KY fans - priceless...

Real crazy finish to high school football game. One team thought they won when in reality they lost the game. Talk about bad luck. The coach was straight furious.
