Sam Young is putting up better numbers than Dorell Wright. I don't see Wright as the right player. He's had five years to show what he can do and he hasn't yet proved he is a key player off the bench.

It's a waste if you ask me.

I always liked him. He can back up Rudy for 10-12 MPG. Decent mid range shooter and solid defender. He's just been injury prone and had a short leash on him.

+1 here. There isn't much more readily available out there - and the Grizz still need depth, desperately.

That's the thing. The inconsistancy issues. Personally, I think he should'vebeen out of Miami around three seasons ago. Some ppl had this guy pegged as the next T-Mac. So far, I haven't been nowhere near convinced he's the next Mac. If he gets away from MIA, maybe he can get better as a player. Until then, his issues will remain.

McGrady comparisons were thrown to any athletic 6'9 forward four or five years back LOL.

Wright would be a decent pickup... as long as we didn't give up a 1st round pick for him.

I don't think they are "shopping" the two late picks, I think they are inexplicably trying to give them away. You don't give away a 1st round pick to a team that you are getting out of the luxury tax. That's just illogical. If anything, they should be the ones shelling out compensation.

If Heisley doesn't want to pay the salary of the two late 1st round picks, then he should just package them with our high pick and move up on draft day or he needs to trade them for a veteran that will really put this team over the hump; Dorell Wright is not that veteran. Sending Miami a 1st round pick in this deal would essentially be throwing away an asset.

Absolutely. I don't mind giving up a minor asset to add an expiring bench player, but not a first round pick, even a late one.

As a Miami fan, I hope you don't get him. He's looking very good this season. His length and activity make him a good defender and he's athletic. I want him to re-sign in Miami next season at the minimum.

Same. This kid is very athletic, and has a smooth jumper, he has nice handles and can play the 1-4 spots, very diverse young kid, its just a shame hes been injured, but this year hes showing hes a pretty good SF, plus even after years, people forget he came out of high school, so is still pretty young at 24.

I'm hoping against hope that Wright is a factor in Wafer not being signed.
