What are some of your thoughts on the whole LBJ to Miami as of late?
Mines are that LBJ knew he was going to leave the Cavs to begin with. So why have 1hr special with Jim Gray stalling with some lame front end questions when you the player simple could've stated in a 5 to 10 min press conference that you would take your chances @ a championship down to South Beach. Personally I could care less since I'm not a LeDiva James fan. Too much ego and too spoiled. Both James and the Cavs organization showed their true colors on Thursday with Diva not bothering to alert the Cavs of his desision until the live conference with Jim Gray and Dan Gilbert really showed that Diva was nothing more than a business proposition that an employee who should've been treated equally the same way as the other players inspite of his star status. That what happens when you let a player with an ego stroke have control of nearly everything. It can come back and blow up in your face like karma.

In a nutshell Bosh did it right and Lebron, not so much. Today's social media driven world makes it that much easier to generate and feed a mob mentality. Was what Lebron did wrong (leaving via free agency)? No. Was how he handled it wrong? Oh yeah...

Re: Thoughts on LBJ's decision
James had the right to sign wherever he pleased and his statement about doing what made Lebron James happy was the correct one. Cleveland owes more to James for what he did for that team and city than James does to what the city did for him. I also think that making it a basketball decision versus a marketing decision was the right one as well therefore I would have chosen Miami over New York as well. We all know that James is going to make more money than he'll ever spend regardless.
I do agree that he handled things kind of poorly and came across as looking a bit aloof but what would have been the right manner? Having teams visit him rather than be part of the circus going to the various cities would have ended up just as crazy with the media frenzy. I don't think it was a classy thing to have Cleveland dangling on the hook until the final 30 minutes though.
I truly do feel sorry for the fans of Cleveland. The emotional attachment to him is naturally a strong one and the anger of losing him is understandable. But the Cavs owner should have taken a bit more of the high road. I'll give him credit that he wore his heart on his sleeve but he should have taken an extra day to calm himself before composing his letter.
And I'll refer to what Steve Nash said when interviewd a couple of days ago. Nash agreed that the Heat have incredible talent with those three but he said that championships are won with total team play and not as individuals. He wondered about how Miami can come up with the other 12 players that they'll need to win. One thing about Steve Nash is that he always is a realist and tells it like it is.
I agree that the Heat are going to be a huge attraction and it will be a circus that will elevate the profile of the entire NBA, which is a good thing. But the Cavs surrounded James with a solid group of veterans that played a very smart game, the way a veteran team is supposed to, with solid defense. I can tell you as a Canadian that watches over 50+ Raptors games a year, Chris Bosh is not a defensive force. Both Wade and Lebron can take care of the perimiter but if Haslem leaves the Heat are going to be vulnerable inside. And if there is one injury to the big three then what?
Like Nash said, I'm not ready to hand the title over to them yet.

Re: Thoughts on LBJ's decision
I didn't mind the decision to leave for Miami too much but the way he handled the last few days of free agency were terrible.
P.S.
When Bosh slipped up in the presser about how the three were talking about this for "months" I couldn't help but think of the idea that LeBron quit on the Cavs games 5 and 6 of the Celtics series. I wish Jim Grey asked LeBron how his elbow was feeling. Whatever though.

I also think it's ironic that Grey was the infomercial hire by Bron's camp and not ESPN. No way he was asking tough questions - wasn't paid to do that.

Re: Thoughts on LBJ's decision
I think it is a sham because he took the easy route. In my life I have always challenged myself and been a better person because of it. The path of least resistance is for the weak. This is a moral that his generation does not seem to understand anymore.

We cannot judge his choice but the way he handled it was all wrong. I agree with you that this ESPN show was pretty ridicolous
