I wouldn't mind keeping Zbo at all despite his selfish play at times. He's a beast inside and can really be effective when he plays within himself and when he cleans up on the glass.

Marc has been playing through injury, but I still have to question whether or not he is the same player I thought he was at the beginning of the season. Really has just underwhelmed me throughout. And no way is he more important than Rudy Gay for this team's success.

Personally, I would love to have Arthur before Gasol.. That's my preferences

I don't think you can frontload near-max RFA contracts like that...
As in, if the max RFA $$ for a 4th year player is ex. 13.5 mil w/10.5% raises, you can't go 16 mil with 10% decreases.

No, they can't. Thats not how the salary cap works.

let's hope Jose takes him out for dinner! ...well not for Grizz fans, but for Raps fans. But in all seriousness this guy has a weird quality where people say he's good but never explain. Like above, where one dude said that he blocks and defends, but a Grizz fan says he does neither at a great level.

What does he do to justify 65 million OR MORE...is he just a solid centre and since they are so scarce people are willing to dish out max money to get him?

Besides efficiency, of course, does he defend, rebound, and block? Can he score without being fed the ball for easy lay ins? And with more touches does he actually contribute more ... ALA The other Gasol?

Yeah, I don't see how he doesn't get the max. Maybe he'll give the Grizzlies a hometown discount?

Dude...the rest of your post is fine, but this...I'll just say that Marc can score in an impressive variety of ways.
He'd probably score a lot more if the Grizzlies had better shooters, wasn't splitting possessions with ZBo, played in a sounder offensive scheme and didn't get into foul trouble as often.
Plus he only shoots the ball 7 times a game. This guy is #2 in the league in FG% and he's only shooting it 7 times a game? :banghead:

He needs more touches for sure; but to be fair, he gets touches and then makes the right play and passes to cutters or out of the double team quite a bit.

I'm curious too as if the Griz would match a 5 year max offer. I fully expect BC to go after Gasol. He loves Euros and wants to move Bargnani to PF. We also have Calderon as something to entice Marc to come here since their good friends and the city itself

Would the Griz really match a max offer? If they resigned Randolph and Mayo and drafted a C like Kanter then I don't see them matching. That's my opinion but what do you guys think since you know your FO the best.

They have a label of being cheap but didn't your owner say he'll match at any costs? Now it's kinda hard to say that if you continously don't make playoffs with the same team. I agree with 60/5 but what if he gets offered 80-85 million. Do you let him walk?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I fully expect the Grizz to come out swinging with Marc's contract, much in the same way the proactively wrapped up Rudy.

That's how I see it too. Henry signing aside, it seems like Heisley has been trying to ditch the label of "cheap owner" (Rudy, Conley).
Plus it makes sense. He's easily our first or second most valuable player; potential for injury aside, there's absolutely no reason for Marc's development to stagnate or regress.
Which is why I think it's highly likely ZBo and/or OJ are gone by the end of the season (if not earlier). Those guys are probably going to want to get paid and if Marc's making $13 million+ a year...somebody might not be getting the $$$ they want.
