Unless McRoberts turns into a superstar, it looks like Memphis made the right move; OJ's stock is at an all-time low. There's really no point in moving him now (considering Memphis is still right in the playoff hunt).

I completely think tihs is fine. If you didn't want to trade him for brewer and picks or taj and picks or w/e we could have come up w/...so be it.
But to reject a bulls offer that was decent for "I didn't know who you were yesterday" McRoberts and a midling pick for OJ mayo...i thnk is dumb as ****.

Taj Gibson and picks for Mayo.... I hope our FO wasn't that dumb to turn that down.

Re: Grizzlies Shopping Mayo
We all KNOW what the real deal is.....as per Bulls writers....could've had a few draft picks and maybe a little more for a guy who doesn't want to be with Memphis anyways....
Though one league insider familiar with the talks said, “It looked like (Michael) Heisley didn’t want to deal with the Bulls.”
Heisley lives in the Chicago area and long has had an ambivalent relationship with the Bulls.
The Bulls supposed offered the Grizzlies three draft picks, a player and were willing to take a bad contract from Memphis, but were turned down.
“That told me they didn’t want to deal with Chicago,” the source said.

Re: Grizzlies Shopping Mayo
FWIW, Tillery is reporting that the Bulls offered only Brewer.

Citing sources, the Chicago Tribune also reported that the Bulls offered Ronnie Brewer, two first-round picks and one second-round pick for Mayo but the Griz declined. A source with knowledge of Grizzlies' trade-deadline dealings claimed the Bulls' proposal only included Brewer.

Sounds like damage control from both sides to me.

True...true! All I see is one source is Chicago and the other is Memphis. I LOVE how unnamed sources are unnamed. Probably just some dude on his computer making up stuff....kinda like we can just to start some stuff! ; )

Re: Grizzlies Shopping Mayo
It's probably the FO who leaks the story to the beat writers who just go ahead and report it. I do know that one of the FO's is lying, and personally I think it's MEM because they can't afford to say "yea we were offered multiple picks but we went w/ the deal that only got us 1 and even that didn't go through". But I have no proof of that.

Between the two of them, I think that the Grizz are the ones being deceptive here. While Brewer > McRoberts, the difference isn't that drastic IMO. When you take into account Memphis's logjam on the wings, then it's not that bad to trade for McRoberts over Brewer. However, if the picks are taken into account, it becomes awful difficult to justify the Indiana package over the Chicago package (assuming the 3 picks report is true). Thus, the motivation to refute the inclusion of the picks arises.
