OJ Mayo Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Mon Jul 2, 2012 6:25 am

With the Grizz not looking to bring back OJ Mayo back into the fold, it's confirm that both sides will part ways. Doesn't make much sense, but it is what it is. Just wanted to thx OJ for being a part of the Grizzlies for the past four years and making the best of his situation while he was a Grizzly. Whether he was startin or comin off the bench OJ did his best to help the Grizz win games. I hate that the end is near, but I wish OJ the best of luck and hope his NBA career gets better from here.

Thx OJ!

I think they should go ahead and offer him a contract, just one that starts at less than the qualifying offer.

7.4 million is a lot of money for O.J. Comparable players like Jamal Crawford haven't quite gotten that much.

Smart move to not offer him. Although i always liked his game, Hhe has been a disappointment in the leeague..The light could still go on for him, kinda like it did for billups after a couple of years, but i wouldnt bet on it

Word is that he sees himself in the "More than the MLE" club. I'm sure he's envisioning $8-$10 million per range. Since he wasn't in the first wave, he'll either end up getting it - by someone left out with cash left over looking to make a "splash" or he'll be disappointed.

I truly wish OJ the best and I'm sorry it didn't work out for him with the Grizz.

I get the distinct feeling that PHX may get OJ with the Hornets looking to match the Gordon contract.
