I wonder now that we are close to the end of the regullar season, whats your opinion about KK, and Calathes, since its hard for me to catch any games of your team.

Calathes was just named February West Conference Rookie of the MONTH! 8-)

I don't think we're utilizing Koufos to the best of his abilities. Maybe he needs more time to get in synch with Conley. To really reach his potential on Grizz.

Both are keepers. Calathes is able to run the offense, find his own shot if he has to, runs great without the ball, and is a decent defender. He may not be that athletic but the BBIQ is there to know where to be. You can't ask for much more out of him. Koufos on the other hand may just need more time but you can see he has the gifts and the hustle. His talent has gone from level 1 to 20 since he's been in the NBA. On the Grizzlies though we haven't seen him at that top level yet because he plays behind Gasol who is the bread and butter of this team and going to play near 40 mpg

I love the Grizz lol. My favorite western team. I got some questions though.

Do you guys have your 1st rounder?
You guys think you'll resign Zbo?

Think Cathales & Koufos are solid, and good backups. Think Pau will come back to Mem. & If you got your pick & pick a James Young, or Rodney Hood, you guys could be beasttt next year.

Conley - Cathales
Allen - Lee - Miller
Young - Pondexter
Zbo - Pau - Leur
Marc - Koufos

Find a way to get out Prince(exp), Davis(rfa), Franklin(potential?) & J Johnson for cap space. I'm sure this is nothing new, but the Grizz just always intrigue me.

yeah we should have the 2014 1st round pick.
I think they'll resign ZBO for a tremendous deal. I'm the same age as ZBO + Pau Gasol. We're all getting old believe me! He should take whatever they offer him. He loves Memphis and owns a great house here and his family is all settled. I don't see him leaving.

I won't lie, Calathes has been a pleasant surprise and Koufos could be used better, but when you are playing behind Gasol it can be tough for playing time though 20-25 minutes a game to rest Gasol would be wise.

As far as off-season moves, I think they should consider two trade targets: Jeff Green and Aaron Afflalo. I think Afflalo will be too pricey to pickup due to the Magic wanting value for him, but Green shouldn't be difficult to pick up. I'd propose the following trade although it wouldn't be happening:

MEM: Jeff Green
BOS: Tayshaun Prince, Ed Davis, Jamaal Franklin 2014 first rounder, 2016 second rounder BOS returned maybe 2016 TOR second rounder necessary.

Grizzlies get a long 3 in Green who's best used as a third/fourth option on a winning squad. Boston gets picks and potential young pieces to the puzzle while getting an expiring and ship out a guy who hasn't really worked out in Boston too well. Grizzlies become a dangerous threat for the title.

Next move: Get Z-Bo to sign a David West like deal at 3/36. This would give the Grizzlies cap situation at 64,972,495. I dunno if they could get Pau since they'd be over the cap in this situation. Not sure how much they could offer him at this point after. They may have to get rid of Koufos to bring back Pau and as much as I like KK, Pau would be an upgrade even though he's older. If they could bring him in, then they should re-sign James Johnson since he's played well for the Grizz. Potential line-up if conceived:

Conley/Calathes/D-leaguer
Allen/Lee/Miller
Green/Pondexter/Johnson
Randolph/Gasol/Leuer
Gasol/Koufos/D-leaguer

If Pau would take a big paycut to come play with little bro Marc, this would be an extremely fearsome team that could win a title.

NO to jeff Green. I watch all the Celtics games because they are the local team here. He's a bum.
It's funny the pieces you suggest are essentially what we got from the Rudy Gay trade. I can't imagine trading Rudy Gay or Jose Calderon for JEFF GREEN. OKC owned Boston with Kendrick Perkins. Although Boston owned them in the original trade for Ray Allen and Glen Davis, Jr so karma always gets you in the end.

Whoops! My bad on Green. Never realized how disinterested he looks half the time. Good catch. I'd figure that they should dump Prince to say Utah/Philadelphia for a TPE with a couple of seconds. Do you think James Johnson could be the starting 3 or Pondexter? They can't be any worse than Prince has been.

Pondexter was on his way to being a starter.... not sure with the injury.
I would just like to ride it out with Prince this season but beyond that we need to bring someone else in! We have a lot of pieces on this team with value on other positions not being fully utilized. I think offseason this year is going to be another series of calculated moves by the FO and we'll get someone very talented in here.

Also remember that ZBO's future here is totally up in the air.

Courtney Lee, Tony Allen, Pondexter, James Johsnon, Mike Miller --- all great players with their niche. But I think this team wants and needs since OJ and Rudy have left is another dynamic wing scorer. Conley is pretty dynamic guy, and so was Jerryd Bayless but we need them to run the point. We need our Dwayne Wade / Paul Pierce guy to get the championship to Memphsi

It's going to be hard to convince a lot of FA's to come to Memphis. I'd try to do these 2 scenarios instead:

Orlando: Tayshaun Prince, MEM #1 2014 and maybe a second rounder
Memphis: Aaron Afflalo

Magic rebuild their kingdom with picks while getting an expiring player. Grizzlies get a shooter who can spread the floor on offense and is respectable on defense.

It'd be cool to lure Pau Gasol back to Memphis but I'm not holding my breath there.
