Would love to hear what kinds of draft day deals you think will happen for all teams, and FA signings, but I will break down one Grizzlies Scenario.
This is one I thought if Memphis were to make a draft day deal this wouldnt be completely bad.
So Memphis lets Calathes go, retain Jeff Green and Udrih and let's say Leur is retained, but Jamychal Green and Stokes are both retained on incredibly low deals (bout 800k each, which i think is actually not far off what they were offered). Carter gets a declined role and say Udrih doesnt come back off his foot surgery so well so he gets a declined role as well. Koufos leaves in FA. So let's look at Memphis' roster Pre-Draft
Conley/Smith/Udrih
Lee/Adams/ Carter
Allen/Jeff Green
Z-Bo/Jamychal Green/Stokes
Gasol/ Leur
and the 25th pick
Total Players on Roster: 13+1 Draft pick
Needs by Position: SF/PF/C
Needs by Skills: Floor Spacing, Length, Athletcism, Coachability, high PER
Needs by Concerns: PG because of Injuries, PF/C because of Depth, Currently playing players out of position/out of play style
An outlook at the current FA market:
FA concerns: Low money available, small market, non-traditional team/play style, low volume of available minutes
FA plus: friendly atmosphere, can hide defensive deficiencies, top team in the West, many veterans
Positions with highest likelihood of signing per FA +/- in order: SG/PF/PG
Most commonly seen FA prospect's attributes: Good Outside shooting / poor defense / undersized/ role players
Trade Proposal:
Atlanta Drafts Sam Dekker at 15
Memphis trades: Courtney Lee + Jon Leur to Atlanta for Sam Dekker + 59th Pick in 2015 Draft
Why for Atlanta? They get the Veteran Courtney Lee who can round out their wing rotation and might be useful to have depending on how the Carroll situation goes in FA, but can still be a solid 6th man for the Hawks and help propel them back into the Eastern Conference Finals and get them closer to the level the Cavs are on, and Leur helps to round out the roster with a fringe rotational big man who can come in handy if one of their players gets injured and is what the Hawks were looking to target in the draft.
Why for Memphis? Memphis retains the 25th pick and now the 59th pick in a deep draft, but the real prize is Sam Dekker who is a versatile true SF on the wing, he is a consistent outside threat, but has more intangibles to offer than simply being a role player on the team in the long term. He is a high upside player with his main "hidden" attributes being a crafty defensive presence who can defend everything from slower more physical PG using his length (Irving, Westbrook, guys Conley has trouble guarding) to even having the length and physicality to guard most PF and he is a keen ball handler on offense. He is coming from a situation where he had a great passing C (kaminsky, we have Gasol) and fits our current system really well. He has also been working on his Athleticism lately and should be an easily coachable player with a low ego and can both space the floor and slash, also a good transition finisher and rebounder. Oh and did I mention his PER of almost 25? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3wKGGX2BTY if you want to see video. This also opens up a bit of cap space to keep us out of the Luxury and gives us a couple cheap long term contracts going into big cap years.
Memphis selects Rakeem Christmas with the 25th pick (If Upshaw is not avaliable)
Memphis selects Josh Richardson with the 59th pick
Why for Memphis in draft picks? Christmas/Upshaw are very good off the bench role players at the C/PF spot to soak up the left minutes by Koufos, Christmas can fit in Memphis' system because he and Upshaw are both good above the rim defenders and the questions about how Christmas' defensive game will translate to the NBA from the zone run in Syracuse is not a problem in Memphis, because even though Memphis runs help defense a lot, just sit Christmas or Upshaw in the middle of the lane like they are used to from College and just get them to defend the rim because Memphis has the defensive ability to man the perimeter well enough that either of those guys should be able to get an ample amount of blocks and contested shots on defense, and both of their offensive games need polishing, but they are each physically ready to play for a physical banging team like memphis and might be able to strengthen their offensive game that way by getting away with a bit more physicallity.
Josh Richardson is a 3-D 6'5" SG/PG prospect out of UT, past teammate of Jarnell Stokes. Joeger seemed really intrigued by him in his recent workout for memphis and its not far fetched to pick up a guy who can pick up the role of a reserved for injury ball handler like Calathes, but unlike Calathes I believe Richardson has better ball handling and shooting skills over Calathes, and slightly better defense. Where he is lacking a bit is in BBIQ when it comes to passing and he has little to no inside game, but I think being around a veteran like carter and such who all have great BBIQ, he will be able to develop mentally away from his deficiencies, a good pickup at the end of the draft who can play in the D-League until needed, more of an extremely cheap insurance policy for Conley and Udrih. The good thing is he is very likable and coachable and seems to really respect the Memphis organization.
Roster Pre-FA:
Conley/Smith/Udrih/Richardson
Allen/Adams/Carter
Dekker/Jeff Green
Z-Bo/Jamychal Green/Stokes
Gasol/Christmas(or Upshaw)
Total Players: 14
So we can get 1 FA
Let's say Oden doesnt make the team, these are some of the best prospects we can get out of FA at MLE that make the most sense, in order.
1. Bass (PF)- floor spacing Bigman and a veteran
2. Marco Bellinelli (SG) - great behind the arc shooter that can space the floor and allow memphis to get more 3s
3. Andrea Bargnani (C/PF) - Good veteran floor spacing bigman who is still a bit undervalued and can play important spot minutes on a contending team.
4. Jonas Jerebko (personally rather try out Jamychal Green more, PF/SF) - Floor Spacing Bigman who is inconsistent at times
5. Javale McGee (C) - After a few bad years he should have a low price tag and could be a decent cheap 4th option in the font court
6. Jason Smith (PF/C) - Good all around bigman who can come off the bench and give meaningful minutes in spot minutes
7. Omri Casspi (SF) - Good all around shooter and can be a solid and cheap option on the wing
8. Quincy Acy (PF/SF) - Overall hasnt shown much in the NBA, but he is effective at crashing the boards and can be a helpful role player if they can get him in shape and quick enough to play the SF position full time.
9. Wesley Johnson (SF/SG) - He has been on the downturn lately, but I still think he has good ability to come in and hit key shots down the stretch, he would be a cheap option we could hold in reserve
10. Joe Ingles (SF) - Who Memphis really should have considered signing last year in the offseason, he is a solid contributor and all around high BBIQ
11. Samuel Dalembert (C) - solid defender who can play some spot minutes
12. Cole Aldrich (C/PF) - This is my personal choice for a cheap 3rd option at C who can defend and get rebounds, and not bad option if we cant get anyone else
13. Garret Temple (SG) - He is only really good at three thing, thats transition basketball, set plays out of timeouts, and FT, we need more transition offense, and Joeger is great at setting up plays out of timeouts in my opinion, so he could serve a couple plays a game kind of role for memphis including end of the game close game situations.
14. Jeff Whithey (C) - Good Shot blocker, not good much else.
15. Louis Scola (PF) - He is aging, but he is still a good player off the bench and since he doesnt jump much, shouldnt really lose his shooting touch. (he could be our mini Z-Bo off the bench)
0. If Lou williams wants to come here for MLE... he is option "TAKE HIM NOW CHRIS WALLACE" EVERY TIME solid guard off the bench and could put us over the top.
Give me your thoughts!

Re: Draft day Deals and FA
I was thinking something the last few days with all the Wade buzz. Now i believe that Pat Riley needs to make a move to make Wade happy so:
Mem - Mia trade
Zbo + Stokes for McRoberts + Chalmers + pick 10
Bosh, Zbo, Deng, Wade, Dragic
Whiteside, Haslem, Beasley, Johnson, Napier
Anderson, Stokes, Ennis, Dragic, Walker
We finally get McRoberts (Conley friend) and a veteran PG for mike insurance. With the 10 pick we can have a really good player.
Gasol, McRoberts, Green, Lee, Conley
Jay Green, Carter, Allen, Chalmers
Adams, Russ
In the draft, my boy is Kevon Looney (but at 10 maybe is to high for him with the current mocks). In the FA, ill go cheap with Jason Smith and D. Arthur. If Oden is somehow healthy ill sign him TOO.
*If Vince is not healthy: G. Green (cheap), D. Wright, Dunleavy/J. Richardson, W. Johnson (in that order)
Grizz 2015/2016
C: Gasol, J. Smith, Oden
PF: McRoberts, Arthur, K. Looney, Jay Green
SF: J. Green, V. Carter*
SG: Lee, Allen, Adams
PG: Conley, Chalmers, Russ
Now we can let Marc play alone inside and everybody moves around.

Re: Draft day Deals and FA
it might just be me, but I see WAY too many injury concerns on this roster, also I am not real high on Mcroberts, also Z-bo is pretty influential in the community and it taking a pay cut to stay in memphis, try to keep gasol if you make that trade, he gone... if any of the core 4 is even close to the chopping block its TA just because we need more out of his position, but at 5m and with the heart he brings to the team, i dont think even he is really that close to being on the outs. But I do think we need to shave down our SG rotation atleast one player, which whether I like it or not, its adams or lee, adams has more years on his contract, is cheaper, younger, and plays about the same game as Lee (6th man kind of guy who can be a spark plug off the bench and who can hit 3s at decent clip) , i personally still believe in Jeff Green even though he is a 6-7th man type in my book too, so thats what my post was trying to get at:
Class System:
All Star Caliber: Conley, Gasol
Starter Caliber: Z-bo
6th Man Caliber: Green, Lee, Adams, Allen , Koufos
Role Player Caliber: Udrih, Smith
Fringe Role Player Caliber: Leur, Stokes, Jamychal Green, Calathes, Carter
Reserve- Bench Warmer Caliber: None
Status Report:
Good we have no guys who are in the Reserve-Bench Warmer Caliber
Good we have guys who are in the 6th man caliber
Bad we only have 3 Starter Caliber+ players
Bad we have a long jam on the wings
Bad we dont have a Role Player Caliber+ player in the front court (Koufos is gonna leave, face the music)
What a team needs minimum in my opinion:
4 Starter Caliber+ players and 1 6th man+ Caliber Player in the starting lineup: Current 3:2
2 6th man Caliber+ and 2 Role Player Caliber+ or 1 6th man Caliber+ and 4 Role player+ Caliber Players as second unit: Current 2:2
2 Role Player+ Caliber Player or 1 Role Player+ and 2 Fringe Role Player+ Caliber Players in reserve : Current 0:5
and then bench fillers as needed
Take my Trade Proposal:
Dekker = Starter Caliber Long term
Josh Richardson = Fringe Role Player long term
Christmas = Role Player Short term
So we have:
All Star Caliber: Conley, Gasol
Starter Caliber: Z-bo, Dekker
6th Man Caliber: Green, Adams, Allen
Role Player Caliber: Udrih, Smith , Christmas
Fringe Role Player Caliber: Stokes, Jamychal Green, Carter, Josh Richardson
Reserve- Bench Warmer Caliber: None
Starting Lineup we have: 4 Starter+ and a 6th man
Second unit we have: 2 6th man, 2 Role player
Reserve we have: 1 Role Player, 4 Fringe Role player
No bench Fillers
And that is BEFORE we put in a FA who will probably be about Role player status
The trade just kinds of fits more of the mould I use to team build when I play games. Tends to work. And I truly think either Stokes or Jamychal Green will atleast make it to Role Player Status this year.

Re: Draft day Deals and FA
I cant follow your ideas. I dont know what are u talking about. Its basketball... ball + players + tactics.
About injury concers? for the pf i have McRoberts, Arthur, Looney, jayGreen, jeffGreen, smith who can play decent there. Im not high in McRoberts, im high in the new system
About Zach, i want him to retire here, but i love more the Grizz, so if we can get a top 10 pick, a decent PF and a good veteran pg i ll do it in one second. About pay cut.... he dont worth more than 10 mill. sorry but hes 34.
About Gasol, i always listen zbo talks about Gasol, i dont remember Marc talking about him... Marc wants to win and with this team we cant with the current system, and with this players we cant play another system, so im all in with the trade. Another option is move zbo to the bench, but i dont know how we can upgrade our roster to play the new system.
About Green hes a starter material, but no with the current system, oh and Marcs loves plays with him.
I give ideas for the real world, i dont care how that works on 2k. I gave you some real facts why miami could make the trade.
pd: i put stokes in the trade because miami likes him, so we have the 25 pick too.
