Davis Signs Record Contract for 2nd Rounder

Deyonta Davis has agreed upon a fully guaranteed three-year, $4 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Davis' deal is the richest ever for an American-born second round pick. The deal allows Memphis to retain his Bird rights and eliminate the Arena provision, leaving him with no restrictions on how much he can earn on a second deal.

Since Davis was picked in the second round after being projected in the first round, hopefully he will turn out to be a steal with hard work and patience.

Hopefully he can now smile, as he and his family were so shocked RE: the fall to the second round and no guaranteed money, they can now chill!
