So if the Grizzlies decide to go into a rebuild, or at least a partial one, what do you hope they do? I assume a rebuild starts and ends with Gasol being traded, but there are different potential trade options for him and the decision of who else to trade.
I think Evans would certainly get moved as well. Conley would get moved if the right deal presented itself, but his value is also probably low right now so shutting him down for the season and letting him be the vet presence next year isn't a terrible option. If he plays well he could get moved at the next trade deadline. Parsons we are likely stuck with unless we are able to break him into smaller bad contracts or something (maybe NOP would be interested?). Green also would maybe get moved. I don't know which of the Gasol deals I like best but maybe MIL or CLE depending on if Brogdon is including or if BKN takes a step back.

NO trade of Gasol, please! We have little inside presence now and moving him makes it absolutely worse to the point of an almost impossible rebuild. Move Gasol, we are in multiple lottery shows.

Really wish Fiz wasn’t fired. He’s a good young coach and has his teams back. I think a rebuild is inevitable at this time. We need more depth and have to somehow move chandlers horrible contract which is not likely. Probably would have to send out a pick just to move it.

Re: IF we go rebuild...
Unfortunately I think the Grizzlies will move Gasol if they go into a rebuild. I think that'll be the first thing they really do. The one sorta exception would be if he got hurt. The Grizzlies may consider shutting him and Mike down for the season, going for a high draft pick such as Doncic or Bagley, and then going at it again with hopefully a young stud who can make an immediate impact.
To move Parsons for something decent/expirings would definitely take a good pick. I think you could maybe sell him to NOP for Asik and Hill or something like that if they are in the playoffs and want to add some shooting/wing depth. Asik is useless but we could waive him his final year and save some money. Hill could hopefully come back from his injury and play decently for us next season.
And I think Fiz is a coach that could have potentially been good for a rebuild. Heck, that was a large reason why we got him a thought. Player development.

Re: IF we go rebuild...
As a grizzfan, id rather see him retiring here. However, As a Gasol Fan, Id love to see him in a contender. In the east, I am not sure if anyteam but the cavs have a shot at the Finals. In the west, GSW and the Rockets maybe?

Re: IF we go rebuild...
Who on the planet trust Chris Wallace to orchestrate a rebuild?
What owner can afford more than 50 million a year in hard dollar loses per year?
If the rebuild goes sideways the team could be moved before they ever see any type of success, they have to stay relevant or the threat to lose the team is all too real.

Re: IF we go rebuild...
Chris Wallace orchestrating a rebuild is not a fun prospect. If we do go into a rebuild I feel like it will be under new ownership who HOPEFULLY will correct the FO problem. I do agree though that a prolonged rebuild could very well lead to the team moving to Seattle.
With Conley's value in the tank due to his injury, I can't imagine him not being on the team to start the season next year. Gasol would get irate if he was on a tanking team unless he was out for some reason. Hopefully we would get something of note for Gasol if he is traded. If he goes to the bucks and we get brogdon in return then this idea wouldn't be great, but I wonder if Boston would do a Tyreke/Green for Smart/Yabusele/minor pick compensation trade? Conley and Smart I feel like could be a decent pairing. Add in a top pick from our tank and maybe a decent pick from the Gasol trade and hopefully we could at least be somewhat competitive the next year.
