Marc Gasol Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Fri Feb 8, 2019 4:52 am

This thread will be dedicated to all contributions that Marc Gasol has done during his 12 yrs as a Grizzly. He was part of the Grizzlies theme Grit-N-Grind where he along with Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, Mike Conley and company had their fair share of successful runs both in the regular and playoff seasons for multiple years. Today was Marc's last day as a Grizzly as he was traded to the Toronto Raptors. It will be a weird adjustment for both sides as decisions were made to turn the page for good. Marc goes to a playoff team in the Raptors. The Grizzlies enter the rebuilding mode to establish their future and new identity. Here are some YouTube footage dedicated to Marc I believe served him the best.

Marc, thank you for the best memories. You will be greatly missed. Good luck to you in Toronto!

Grizzlies fans show your franchise player some love!

I just came here to say thank you to your front office for trading a player of Marc Gasol's calibre to a contender and not the Charlotte Hornets. Raptors fans know it sucks to lose such a big part of your franchise; in six months we lost our two longest tenured players. Despite this I know you guys will love JV and Delon (who I'm sure you'll re-sign) and I expect JV to put up 22/11 with 36 minutes a night.

If Marc can be as big a leader and as clutch for us as he was for you, then he will be the man that puts us over the top and into the NBA Finals. (knock on wood)

Toronto got a lot of new fans this deadline. I'd love to see Marc get a chance to play the role he was born to do and help Toronto get a championship. Marc really helps facilitate the offense but isn't a 1st/2nd option kind of guy. On defense he is older and a little slower but he is smart and should really help you guys in the playoffs. Good luck and treat him well! He is probably the greatest player in franchise history. Grit N Grind Era was something special.
