Absolutely.
That's why the Grizz shipped out a protected 1st for him. The owner has stated multiple times that priority one is to resign Rudy, while Ronnie is a close second. Ronnie will be attempted to be resigned regardless of whether Rudy stays or goes elsewhere.

Backing up Rudy and OJ could net him 30 or so minutes a game.

Rudy and OJ got lots of PT by default this year. They were over played. 33 minutes a game, more or less, is about the right place.

Gay will leave this offseason so Brewer will get at least 25 minutes a game

They likely will consider matching most offers - outside of max deals. The above poster is an OJ Mayo fan.

I just hate Rudy Gay, he used to be my favorite player because I legitimately thought he could be a top 10 player in the league. Unfortunately all he wants to do is score and he never gives 100%, guy has zero impact on winning

i dont think they should resign gay. he has had 4 full seasons to prove himself, and he just isn't a winner or gamechanger. let him go and let OJ Mayo the franchise do his thing with Marc Gasol and Z-bo. Mayo is better than Rose and Evans it is time he gets put it the best situation to show it.

Brewer is definitely a keeper. The Grizz need depth so bad that it would be stupid to let him go... It just wouldn't make sense.

I believe if we sign him, we will trade off at least one of the three: conley carroll or mayo.

Carroll would have to be in a package deal for sure. As for Ronnie "Ice Cold" Brewer the Grizz need to come up with a good number to resign him. Especially with the powershift in the EC as of late.

Griz close to deal with Celtics' Tony Allen
The Grizzlies are close to agreeing on a contract with Boston Celtics free agent swingman Tony Allen, The Commercial Appeal has learned.
Allen, 28, is an unrestricted free agent and the Griz are hoping to sign him to a multiyear deal starting at roughly $3 million.
The defensive-minded player just completed his sixth season with the Celtics, who selected the 6-4 Allen with the 25th pick in the 2004 NBA draft.
Signing Allen would mean Memphis would completely severe ties with Ronnie Brewer, who it acquired from Utah for a protected 2011 first-round pick in February. Brewer wasn't extended a $3.7 million qualifying offer and became an unrestricted free agent.
Brewer apparently wasn't willing to commit to the Grizzlies' latest offer because of pending negotiations with Chicago and Utah.
The Griz decided on Allen because of the defense and toughness he could bring to the backcourt off the bench. Memphis is also said to like Allen's leadership qualities and championship attitude given he's played for the title-contending Celtics.
So the Grizzlies basically traded a future first for Tony Allen.

I read an article yesterday stating he is likely to be going to Chicago and his 2nd option is Utah.

Can't really blame him for going back to Utah since it was his first team and he has a good rapport with the team and the system there. As for Chi-town if their plans are to utilize Brew @ the SG spot. They could've use a Mike Miller type who is more of a natural shooter then Brew is. As of now, they offer JJ Redick a contract, but the Magic have until Friday to match it if they wish.

I have a feeling that the Grizz reached out to his agent and suggested that there was a 3 year $10 million slot available and Brewer opted to look elsewhere.
