Marko Jaric was bought out, so he cannot be included in a trade.

I would probably rather keep the 12 and Brewer instead of trading for a 30 year old SF. While Butler has been good i just don't think he fits in with our team.

What do some Memphis fans think about this deal?:

Peja Stojakovich (expiring~15mil.) +Darren Collison

in Sign-&-Trade deal for

Rudy Gay +2nd round pick

I could see a deal like this going down due to Memphis's need for a point guard and the lack of valuable options in the draft.

I know it is all but a formality that the Hornets will have a new owner with much deeper pockets but how much would you be planning on paying Rudy?

Highly unlikely is your current proposal, but throw in the #11 on your side and accept Demarre Carroll from our side and perhaps it gets thought about?

BRIEFLY!

In the end that would probably get declined as well.

I would absolutely love to get Darren Collison to Memphis. But the cost of roughly $17mil for both Peja and Collison in this deal is far too high a price to pay. Maybe a Collison/Posey for Gay might more agreeable for the Grizzlies. Ane even then management would have to be sure they were going to lose Gay anyways to some team before considering this.
