How many wins in 2010-11?
Jazz fan here. Not intending to troll or anything, I'm just curious how many wins you all think you'll get this next year. How do you think you'll far in the West position wise?
Thanks
Thanks

With no significant changes to the roster, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol both in full contract seasons, no significant changes to the roster (other than not starting the season with AI), and a second full season of Hollins entrenched as the coach, I'd bet somewhere in the 42-48 win range. Could be higher if bench scoring at the 4 is addressed.

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
Right now without seeing a schedule, I would say a 50 win season is possible. This is due more to the reductions in talent from the Western Conference so some teams will be weaker which should result in more wins and easily making the playoffs.
If we were able to trade for any of the following: Wilson Chandler, Ryan Anderson, Ramon Sessions, or Delonte West. They would fill a need area to such a degree that 4 addtional wins and a top four in the conf. could be expected.

logically we should score 45 wins but my aspiration is for 72 this season

35-48. Our team imploded when there was an injury to our Big 5. If we're healthy, we could fair a little better than last year.

Given good health and lack of canswer, I'll say 47-49. If we could make a move to bolster our bench scoring, we'd have a very good shot at 50 IMO.

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
Thanks guys.
Do you really think the West is that much weaker?
Much improved ---- OKC (young players growing) and Houston (Yao + Trades), Sacramento (draft picks and player development)
Improved --- New Orleans (CPs healthy), Clippers (griffen + picks), the Jazz (just my opinion, we're prob just about the same as last year), Blazers (Matthews + it's impossible to be as injured as much as last year)
Slightly worsened --- Suns (I think they're not much worse, since Amare didn't play any D and they got a bunch of new acquisitions). Dallas / Spurs (Age, but they'll be close to last year imo barring injuries). Lakers (this decline isn't really discernible, but prob a little).
I think the west will be as competitive as ever. Good Luck!

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
I can't pinpoint a club in the West that was devastated like the Cav's will be but a few playoff teams or at least five games worse than last season which is really all we need. In my opinion Phoenix is at least 7 games worse and so is Utah who lost a few core players and have 2 players coming off of significant injuries in Okur and AK47.
Dallas/Denver/San Antonio didn't do anything to improve and they will battle age and injuries all year. If the Grizz simply solved there Point Guard and Bench riddle they could very easily be a top four team in the West.
IMO!

above 50% if we stay healthy, if not... the team will collapse and we will be about 30W.

Wait what?!! Am I reading this correctly? Denver did not get better with the addition of Al Harrington? And, we are better than that squad when they are not dealing with coaching issues? I don't think so.

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
I see about the same wins as last season, maybe a couple less. Their starting five are intact but the bench hasn't significantly improved. Other than Tony Allen I don't see the bench depth they need to take that next step up. Henry is only going to complicate the backcourt if Mayo stays at shooting guard and doesn't see any minutes at the point, and Vasquez isn't going to make a difference even though I thought he looked okay in summer league. Arthur is back but it won't matter really since Randolph will take almost all the minutes. Thabeet didn't look much better than the year before and Carroll actually looked worse to me. Sam Young was the only bright spot on the entire team in my opinion.
I expect the Warriors and Kings to be better and probably the Clippers as well with a healthy Blake Griffin. I'm not saying they will end up ahead of Memphis but there won't be any easy games for the Grizzlies.

your range is too big, you are saying 80% of the case.
i say 45-50 wins.
I am exciting about this team. I am a Warriors fan and I like what you guys have built there.
Marc is still improving but concern about Zach's work ethics.

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
Sorry, I see I should have assigned a number. 37-43 wins. Can the starters stay healthy like last year? Can the bench actually contribute this season? Have they matured enough as a team and learned how to come through in fourth quarters? These are questions that can't be answered at this time and will be what determines the team's success.

47-55 wins
Average bench plus more experience will help the Grizzlies not blow 15 double digit leads. Average bench will also help in not being one of the worst teams in the league at back to backs

Re: How many wins in 2010-11?
If you take out our 1-8 start, we would end up with 43-44 W last season, so, with an improved bench and chemistry, I expect 50+ W

You guys are overthinking it. The Grizzlies have OJ Mayo, all the other teams don't. He will carry this franchise to their first 50+ win season and playoff win this year, no question asked. Never doubt the the talent of OJ Mayo.
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.

2003-04 we got 50-32.
Please, stop with this Mayo-GOAT bs, it was funny, but now is annoying. He´s a good player on our team, but that´s about it.

46 max. I expect them to be around .500 though.
