This trade is horrible for Memphis. We can do much better than what you offered for Zach's expiring contract. You don't need Memphis....call Minnesota...they can absorb contracts.

It's not horrible for Memphis, only PG on their roster is Conley and Jameer Nelson is better than Conley. So in hindsight Memphis gets a starting PG and bench PF for Randolph's expiring .

Sweet! We can land another even-more undersized point guard by giving away our most productive player - on a expiring contract - AND putting Darrell Arthur at the starting PF spot. I don't even need to look at the market for massive expiring contracts to know that this is an A+ move for the Grizz. Sign me up, and figure out a way that we can throw a 1st in there too!

Thabeet doesn't look ready to start and Randolph's expiring is going to be important for the Grizzlies financially.

The only way I can see us doing that trade is including David West and Conley.

Marc Gasol played at PF while his brother was still here playing center before you traded him to Lakers for a bag of chips.
Nelson
Mayo
Gay
M Gasol
Thabeet
Is a nice young starting 5 for Memphis to have awhile.

Pau Gasol was traded FOR Marc Gasol (which, by the way, negates your condescending "bag of chips" statement); and your logic for the Grizz is lacking. Would you trade Dwight for a clearly inferior player and a bench C just to address your weakest starter? I.e., would you trade Dwight for Rudy Gay and Haddadi? Rudy Gay is better than your starting SF and you get a bench C to replace Howard - so
by your logic, that's a good deal for Orlando.
Even beyond the terrible value that is evident on the face of your proposal, when you take into account the fact that Zbo has a massive expiring contract, it only compounds the terribleness of this proposal. Assuming you don't know, expiring contracts are highly valuable in the league - and I'd be willing to be that Zbo's contract alone (i.e. not taking into account his actual production on the floor) would fetch a better trade (as in better fit and better sense) than this proposal from a team looking to shed salary around the trade deadline.
Sheesh, I guess sarcasm doesn't work sometimes. At the end of the day, you are not going to upgrade from Nelson to Paul at the expense of the
Grizz's most productive player.

btw, Conley is not our only PG. We also have Greivis and Mayo can handle the point.

Nelson is better than Conley and Greivis and Mayo is your SG.

Thanks for explaining it jefe. I don't know how he didn't know Marc was included in the Pau trade, but hey it's Memphis I guess.
It's still a bad trade.

It really wasn't a bad trade for the Grizzlies at all, but I'm not going to do a complete rundown of everything we got in exchange for Pau.

Sorry, I meant the trade proposed here is still a bad trade. My grammar sucks at times

Memphis's involvement in this deal does not make any sense. Granted if you can help weaken a division rival you do it but if it means giving up your most productive player and receive less than marginal talent in return then you don't go near it.
The idea is lazy at best. The only reason the Grizz seem to be included is someone looked at the Pau Gasol trade and thought the organization would be an easy mark instead of looking at what those assets truly turned out to be.
The Magic can get the deal done without including Memphis.
