The Grizzlies removed performance-based bonuses from contract offers to Xavier Henry and Greivis Vasquez, and the first-round draft picks could sign deals as soon as Thursday.
Team owner Michael Heisley said Wednesday night that he was on the wrong side of the issue and made his decision after NBA officials provided an in-depth explanation with regards to the spirit of the collective bargaining agreement.
Henry and Vasquez have been in a contract stalemate with the Grizzlies since the June draft. Henry even refused to play for the Grizzlies' summer league squad.

Heisley looks like a bigger idiot than ever before.
But at least they signed the rookies.

My dynasty fantasy team is very happy with this news as I ended up drafting both of them!

LOL what a failure. Now everybody knows the best way to negotiate with Heisley is to demand whatever you want and he will eventually cave in.

Or in Rudy Gay's case, even more than what you ask for.

The funniest thing was the quote from Heisley that he "was on the wrong side of the issue". I mean the guy can't even bring himself to simply say he was wrong.
But from a fan standpoint who cares? At least the distraction hopefully is behind them and they can move on to camp.
