Joe Jackson: The Next Allen Iverson?

I just wanted to throw some Memphis U hoops discussion onto the forum. Now, despite not being from Memphis or having been to Memphis, I have seen this guy play live in high school. As many of you know, he is lightning fast and able to get his shot off virtually at will. He is a decent facilitator, but he will have to work a little bit on this end of the floor. Also, he needs to become a top defender in college. Right now, word is that he is going to have an AI-like impact this coming season. What are your thoughts?

From seeing JJ play @ White Station. He has the speed, the offensive repritoire(sp) and, the athleticism. JJ has that MJ mental strength where no matter what you do to throw him off his game he doesn't allow it to effect how he plays the game. Scorer wise, you can say JJ and AI are in the same boat as they can score buckets in a hurry, Whereas who's the better shooter, JJ is as he doesn't fling his shots up with reckless abandon like AI would do inspite of scoring 30+ pts.
I feel he will make an impact for the Tigers this season. He will however needs to work on being more vocal and being more confidence towards being a leader. JJ has that shy social about him and really is known to keep to himself. Not a bad thing, but when you got the skills to make it big in the pros, you have to be willing to make changes for the better not just for your team, but for yourself as you mature as a player and as a person off the court.

I don't think he's as good as Eliot Williams

You are comparing apples to oranges though. Jackson is a point guard, and an incoming freshman at that. I do believe that he has more long run NBA potential than Elliot despite Williams' excellent athleticism.

I'd have to disagree with you there. Watched them both in HS (and Elliot of course at the UofM). No disrespect to Elliot, but I think Joe's get's the nod as the better player.
That said, can't wait until we're making the comparisons next year to who Adonis' game compares most to
