Quick clarification - this games not on TV locally in Memphis. Which really bites as I had to give up my tickets for another commitment.

You have to get league pass. It's one of the real bonuses for having it: when the local broadcast is blacked out, you have access to the other team's broadcast.

Great pic, BTW.

I think that we should win in a blowout. (no offense to TWolves fans) We match up very well with Minnesota. They are weak at the point, a position where we have been historically weak. So they will have a tough time exploiting us there, especially with the improvement of Conley Jr.

Then, on the interior, Kevin Love is solid, but I question whether he can handle Marc Gasol. We should be able to dominate inside and grab lots of second chance points. And then at small forward, we should have a big advantage with Gay. Would not be shocked if he dropped 30+ tonight.

The key to this game for us is going to be OJ Mayo's defense on Wes Johnson. We cannot let him go off because that would be our downfall. Also, Arthur is going to have to slow down Beasley. If we can do that defensively, it should be a blowout.

1. You will be surprised by Luke Ridnour. Despite his journeyman history in the NBA, he has been great in Minnesota, putting up 20/5/6 and 13/6/7 in his first two games.

2. Kevin Love can't handle Gasol, that is true. Luckily, he won't have to. As much as he's struggled offensively, Darko Milicic has been very good for us on the defensive side of the ball with 9 blocks in just two games (has played a total of 48 minutes). As far as offensive rebounding, Minnesota had a 20-9 advantage vs Milwaukee.

3. The Gay vs Beasley matchup scares me a bit. However, Gay will also have to defend Beasley on the other end of the floor.

4. Honestly, I'm not worried about the matchup of Johnson vs Mayo. There was a long stretch in the second half of last night's game where Johnson was defending Brandon Jennings, and he was doing a good job. On the other side, Johnson should be able to shoot right over the shorter Mayo. However, if Ellington starts for us like he has been, I expect Mayo to go to work right away on him.

Whats the deal with Randolph, is he hurt?

Randolph got hurt in the first game, and I assume we are trying to nurse him to full health before bringing him back.

As for Johnson vs. Mayo. Mayo has not been our main threat so far, so even if Johnson shuts him down, I would expect Gay to pick up the scoring load. Also, I do not think that Darko will be super effective against Gasol.

Despite the past two games' numbers, I would still take Conley Jr. over Ridnour.

As for your Wolves, I was impressed with their win the other night. You looked fairly solid and your point guard play was not as bad as I expected.

The rare double blackout is no good for anyone. In the three (now four) years I've had LP, it's happened a handful of times. The blackout tonight really sucks for Twolves fans, unless you can catch a quick flight down here. What's the deal with blacking out road games?

Wait I'm confused, is this game not available on league pass broadband at all? :x

Also, who knew Darko had man-boob issues.

Nice game thread. :)

Good luck tonight (but not too much). I'm curious to see how the young Wolves do on a back-to-back on the road.

This.

Having no TV coverage sucks ass. Apparently there will be a feed on LP so I assume they'll use the arena feed that is shown on the jumbotron.

Grizz off to a quick start with an 8-4 lead.

Rudy takes it to the post.

Coming out the gate with some energy is what the Grizz need to do.

Conley to Rudy for the 3ball.

Grizz really playing with some aggression. They need to keep it up for all four quarters.

O.J. has got to be more patient on offense. He's shooting everytime he gets the ball.

And it's garbage time!

Anyone know how Telfair played? I tuned in late to this one. I'm interested to hear.

Edit: I just saw that they have a franchise record 22 steals. So I'm guessing he played pretty poorly. Or maybe that was just Ridnour! :o

Looking at the boxscore, it seems as though I was right about Rudy scoring a lot tonight. He almost hit 30, but he had to split the scoring with Mayo, who dropped 29 himself. We're looking good, but we can't get overconfident. We have not defeated any contenders yet!
