Laws days in Memphis are numbered?

The Grizzlies are expected to soon have free-agent guards Patrick Beverley and Garrett Temple in for a workout.

The workouts could be a bad sign for Acie Law, who is playing under a non-guaranteed contract that allows Memphis to waive him by Dec. 8 without any obligations.

My initial reaction is that Law may be a better option than Temple. However, I am intrigued by Patrick Beverley. It would be interesting to see how he would fit on our roster.

If there is a financial component that will save a dime for the organization than he should keep his bags packed. He can't complain as he was given more of a chance to prove himself, which is so surprising he could not take advantage of an ideal situation.

Tillery summed it up pretty well this morning. He said (in a nutshell) that all Law had to do was prove himself better than a rookie coming off ankle surgery that missed all of training camp, and he couldn't even do that.

Additionally, Ron also added (and I wholly agree) that the last thing the Grizz need is another 6'1" - 6'6" player. They need another 6'"8 - 6'11" wing/strech 4 type that can effectively spell Rudy and fill in for Randolph/Arthur and/or be a change of pace guy.

I hoped he could stay in the rotation somewhere... now I may have to call him Acie Low. :(

Acie Law stinks like a poopy diaper. He's like the Thabeet of guards (but with none of the "potential"). Marcus Williams looked like an all-star compared to Law.

Why don't we bring him back then?

Because Marcus isn't a real step up either. The Grizz either need to let GV learn on the job or get a true upgrade at the point. Personally I'm in favor or letting GV, Tony and OJ get whatever extra minutes at the point and let the front office go after a stretch 4 to fill Law's slot.

I'd be perfectly fine with them giving him a shot.

If we let Mayo play point guard, I might literally pound my head into a wall. He was dreadful in summer league, so how is this going to work during the regular NBA season?

Yep, it's finally official. This guy needs to really work on his game to get back in the league.
