Physical play getting in Rudy's head?

He's been pretty quiet in games more recently.
I've noticed a few times this year (but especially lately) that teams have started throwing their bulkier defenders at Rudy and challenging him by getting extra physical and aggressive. He hasn't responded very well, especially now that his jumpshot isn't falling. I think the Scola incident was a good indication that it's starting to really bother him.
Sure the Rockets took it to Memphis, and he was obviously frustrated but I think Rudy was sending a pretty clear message with that flagrant as well: you play me physical and I'm going to retaliate. He needs to find a way to turn the more physical defense to his advantage because otherwise Memphis can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
And honestly, there are quite a few plays where he'll get hacked badly in the paint and not get the call, so I'm not really sure what his options are (besides flopping, throwing himself into defenders and shouting out more). That's the part that kills me about the NBA. Guys like Rudy and Rose who play way above the rim and take the ball to the hoop strong still aren't getting calls on obvious fouls because they don't make a ridiculous scene and they don't dive at defenders.
