Anybody home?
Tony Allen is as awesome on defense as he is bad on offense. What a block.

Not really anything wrong with him. Grizzlies have been playing with their starting lineup and rotations all season long.
That's the short answer. There's a longer explanation in one of the trade threads or OJ Mayo threads.

Mayo had bronchitis and sat out the game. And just like I said the whole time Mayo got sent to the bench, Tony Allen should be the starter if Mayo isn't.

I missed this contest- which is why I didn't post.
But, I heard Tony Allen had the defensive play of the year. Is this true?

Apparently, his face got swollen when it collided with Tony Allen's fist on the team's flight back from LA.

Awesome game. Shame it wasn't a sellout, but definitely not your typical weeknight Grizz mausoleum feel

They carried over the momentum from the Lakers game. I watched about half the game while taking down Christmas decorations and felt they had control of the game even with Durant and Westbrook having their way.
For anyone who ever says that Gay and Randolph take too many shots they should watch Kevin Durant. For all the great skills he has he is a bit of a volume scorer, which is okay since that's his job to shoot and try to score. So I have no problem when Gay or Randolph end up with 20 shots a game each, that's what they're paid to do for this team.
I also think that's why Tony Allen has been a key player while Henry is out. He picks his spots well for shots and knows his role is defense first, which gives more shots to Gay and Randolph. But he did hit a key three pointer.
The only negative I saw was that Conley couldn't contain Westbrook, although Westbrook has been torching just about every guard this season.
I'm hoping this is the start of a solid run like last season at this time of year.
