Anyone who have been able to watch the Grizzlies regularly this season, what are your thoughts on Grevis? Could u possibly compare him at all to Steve Nash? Do you think he could end up the starting point guard for the Grizzlies putting Conley out of the picture? I haven't been able to see any games this year so I'd like to know your thoughts.

I can't really talk seeing as i haven't watched any games but of the highlights he seems like a very good and smart passer. He's seems intelligent with the ball in his hands, he makes the right decisions by the look of it.

He's very crafty on offense. He's not a great athlete but he knows how to use his size and body to get off decent shots. He's a good passer and I think he has very good vision. I think he'll be a pretty good pick and roll player. His handles are OK for his size and I think they'll get better as he gets more comfortable out on the floor.
Defensively he's seemed active. I honestly haven't been able to watch his defense enough to say whether he's bad, decent or good. But I think he's got potential to be decent defensively. At the very least it looks like he tries.
Really though, I like that he has the balls to make plays and knock down big shots. He doesn't look scared out there when he's playing. He's probably the best backup point the Grizzlies have had in years. That isn't saying much, but it's nice to have a young guard who competes and seems to be effective.

i love his passion, he has a great vision, good shooting ability and also the thing that surprised me most, he is a decent defender. It's perfect from the bench because he brings a lot of energy and can change the game tempo if he wants.

Not to bash Vazquez, because all the posts above me are certainly true; but Vazquez is comparable to Nash the way that Arthur is comparable to, I don't know, let's go with Charles Barkley - they play the same position in the NBA, and that's about it. Vazquez is much slower, nowhere near the shooter (%wise), and nowhere near the same caliber of playmaker.

Will Vazquez ever render Conley unnecessary? I doubt it, but who knows. Right now, Vazquez is looking like a very fine role playing back up PG (come in and keep the offense running while limiting turnovers) who would probably get exposed by the opposition if given major minutes (that's not to say that this doesn't already happen with Conley though :-? ), which is more than I expected given his relative lack of quickness and lateral speed.
