The NBA has suspended Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo 10 games without pay for violating the league and union's anti-drug program with a positive test.
The league announced the suspension Thursday for Mayo's positive test for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Mayo's suspension will start Friday night when the Grizzlies visit Philadelphia, and he will be able to return Feb. 15 also against the 76ers in Memphis. He will forfeit $405,109 of his salary.
Mayo said in a statement released by the team that he is extremely disappointed he will miss 10 games as the Grizzlies are making a push for the playoffs. He blamed an over the counter supplement that he didn't know was banned by the NBA for the positive test, but a team spokesman said Mayo declined to say which supplement he used.

He was doing important scientific research, he was testing to see if DHEA actually had any positive effects and he obviously proved that it does not, see performance this season

Someone explain to me how DHEA is categorized as a banned substance by the NBA.
Does it fall under the category "performance enhancing drug?"
Because it clearly doesn't help your game. At all.

DHEA is completely harmless. People are reading too much into it. In fact, NBA considered releasing the ban since it is not technically "performance enhancing."
DHEA is sold everywhere. I buy mine from Target or iHerb.com
It supposed to be really healthy for you - esp if you are stressed and have higher cortisol and whacked out hormones. It brings everything back to normal. I spray it a few times a day every week:

One school of thought is that it wasn't really for DHEA alone, that DHEA was listed and the real culprit substance was agreed to be left out of the announcement/conversation.
Personally, I don't believe that it was just DHEA.

It's funny because his nickname is Juice.

The unfounded word on the street is that OJ could give "Turtle" a run for his money? (Allegedly)
I guess a trade to LA LA land would not be the worse thing for him personally.

OJ hair is rich in texture, whereas MJ hair isn't, hairline already receding at that young of age. Not to mention OJ hairline is very low, that only happens with good genes. Dude not ever going to be bald, I am just stating a fact.
