It will be interesting to see whether or not OJ is moved, that would be about the most exciting thing that I'd expect to happen though.

If they do end up trading OJ for a pick, I hope they take Alec Burks, Bismack Biyombo, Marshon Brooks, or Jimmer. I certainly wouldn't endorse trading Mayo for a prospect, but the Grizzlies tried to do it before, and if they do it again, those are my favorite late-lottery prospects and I'd hope they take one of them.

Honestly, I must throw this out there.

We Grizzly had a great 2nd half and a more than solid playoff run without Rudy. I know Heisley has said he's untradeable, but would it not make sense to move him and fill all of our holes in the process. This would also allow us to resign Gasol.

I don't believe that keeping Rudy/resigning Marc are mutually exclusive. Will it put them in luxury territory? Yes, most likely. Will it mean moving OJ? Yes, most likely. Will it mean (eventually) having to part with 00 DA? Yessiree! But I don't think that keeping Rudy means so long Marc.

I wasn't saying the 2 went hand in hand, one stating that Gay would appear to have the most value.

Another ardent suitor is Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins. Ellis' elite shot-making aptitude would enhance Mike Conley's capabilities and perfectly complement the team's two command posts, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. Memphis is offering Rudy Gay.

Two words that should set your mind at ease - Peter Vescey. As the author of the post and current sports fiction writer of the New York Post. Peter has never historically let the facts get in the way with a good story.

I think Peter is tight with Jerry West so you can guess whose interest are being served with the story. What is disconcerning is that Chris Vernon was on his radio show praising the benefits of such a deal. Which means the deal may have been discussed as Chris is the sounding board for the GM Chris Wallace. Chris mentioned Ellis and Wright or Ellis and Udoh for Rudy Gay.

I would not favor dealing Rudy in this deal even given the savings as I feel he will be an Allstar this year and Ellis would have to start at the SG when the team is at its best when Tony Allen starts at SG. This deal would therefore weaken the Grizz at two positions.

I am not opposed to trading for Ellis but I would want him to play point guard which is not going to happen, so I guess we are a summer too late.

Chris Herrington shares your views of the Vescey piece. Shot him a tweet about this and he agreed that the info seems to be coming from GSW way - because his "theory" (fiction) just doesn't fit the reality. I'm guessing that this rumor comes courtesy of one of Vescey's longest and most trusted sources - Jerry West.

Rudy Gay for Monta Ellis, Curry, and their first round pick. I'd probably do that.
This draft is pretty weak when you have Minnesota already shopping the #2 pick. Then again, it's Minnesota. I don't see much talent coming out this year though. The few players I know would be 2nd round picks in other years. Wouldn't mind getting Singler though. A Duke player with a championship always does well in the NBA. (which is why Irving will be a bust since he wasn't around for the championship)

Hi guys. I'm from Slovenia I went to the same school as the Dragic brothers and apperantly Memphis has been in contact with Gorans younger brother Zoran. He could be your pick in the second round, but wouldn't come over right away.

Well Zoran is a fres Slovenian finals MVP. He is like his brother in many ways. Simmilar build (zoran is a bit bigger and stronger). He is not a point but rather a 2/3. His best wepon is his penetrating ability and finishing at the rim(lefty like his brother). He also plays exceptional defense at least by European standards. He can guard positions 1-3. Plays with high energy, but can have confidence problems especially when it comes to his shoot. Not a good shooter at this stage of his career.
