Ive been supportive of this idea for a while now and i was just wondering what Grizzlies fans would think of one of these two possible trades. Ive done it in the trade forums a while back and on other sites, i mostly get the opinions of lakers fans, spurs fans, ect. So i would really want to know what you guys think because personally after what i saw in the p-o's last season, i think either trade turns the Grizzlies into instant legit contenders.

Im going to use trade machine even though one of them will not work now without a sign and trade scenario.

Ok, the second trade i just kinda pulled out of my ass because of all the CP3 talk.

Rudy Gay and Conley are both friends with CP3. It would make no sense to trade them for him and basically guarantee 0% he'd resign with Memphis - only if we're trying to rebuild and get rid of those contracts. Trading Gay for Steve Nash is also a fail. Nash is in the twilight of his career and Rudy Gay is 25 years old. Kobe was still playing w/ Shaq when he was Rudy's age.

MEM says no to both. Both hurt the depth of the team.

Neither actually hurt the depth of the team. But both trades (while the Nash one was the only serious one) was done with the idea that Battier would resign.

Steve Nash is a great player, but I can't see the Grizz breaking up their core for him given his age.

With Battier on that team, i really dont think it would have broken up the core. In fact i think the reason they did as well as they did in the play-offs was because Gay was not there to command the ball which allowed for guys like Mayo, Henry, Gasol, Arthur, Randolph and even Conley Jr to be better and create a more spread out floor.
And while yea, Nash would limit their window to say, 3 years, i think with him at the helm we would really see the 2-5 flourish.

Well, the reality is that Gay is back and Battier is gone. So again, I don't think that the Grizz break up their core for Nash, but I understand the position that the 2011 playoff Grizz essentially give up nothing for Nash.

Right, whic is why this was posted before Shane was gone.
Now, im not sure how the Grizz will bring in a solid PG. I just cant buy Conley being on that team and him being able to hold the fort down.
So ehhh.... maybe i will revise the Suns trade. They did get Hill back, so thats a plus.
