Grizz hire Hollinger

I'm still not sure how I feel about bringing Hollinger on board. I've liked the job Wallace has done, and on some level, this move is going to further diminish his input IMO.

The real news here, however, is the Barones have (or will?) be cut loose by the Grizz - a move WELL overdue IMO.

The big question is why is Hollinger being brought on now and the Barone's dismissed now?

Well in my opinion, a deal still has to be made and the decision making process is going to be a lot different going forward and based upon statistical evidence rather than characteristics used in the past. December 15th is a few days away and more players can be considered in a potential deal. Secondly having Wallace mentor or transition the duties to Hollinger makes sense on two fronts. First the Grizzlies never replaced the recently departed Kenny Williams who was the AGM and secondly it seems like Wallace will not be retained and his contract expires at the end of the season anyway.

I think Hollinger's use of advanced statistical analysis combined with Wallace's sharp eye for pure, intangible basketball talent could make for a stellar duo.

Plus, the Barone's are finally gone. We all know that's a huge win for the organization.

Why do you think that Wallace will have less input? The Barone's were alright, but I was never thrilled with them.

I really hate what Grizzlies front is doing right now.

We have to looking for a better shooter than Ellington. but we do not need trade Rudy Gay middle of the season. B/c we are cloth to 70% winning team better than Miami Heat. Just let Rudy and Zack keep together until next offseason.

I promiss if we can get shooter like JJ Redick we can make to Conference Final this year.
Grizz front office have to remember our starting 5 is better than Clippers last year and this year. even tough we lost openning game against Clippers but we did not lost by starting 5. simply our 2nd unit is not better than Clippers.

The problem is that the ownership does not want to play the luxury tax. So, the options are to trade Gay or Randolph, or make a stupid trade like this. If only they could have negotiated the 1st round pick out of it....
