2 quick fouls by Gasol. This seems to be happening a lot lately.

Wow. Gasol, Conley, and Bayless all in foul trouble in the 1st quarter. Timberwolves have 20 points aided by 14 FT's.

Ridiculous.

I'm watching NBA gametime. It's a shame that this game is not on TV for me.

Doesn't sound good though.

Austin Daye and Tony Allen are keeping us in it with good hustle plays, tip-ins and the like.

So far so good like you said. We need to put a better clamp on the Wolves offense before they get too hot. The Beast also needs to go to work offensively.

So far Lionel Hollins made great decision in first half. He gave more oppotunity to second unit today. If we get one more good shooter then we may chance to win in playoff.

I agree. I think we may have done better in the Rudy Gay trade than I originally thought. Prince and Davis are more or less what I expected, but Austin Daye has arguably outplayed both of them thus far.

I'm trying to figure out why the Pistons didn't use him much. A 6'11" SF who can shoot the three, handle the basketball, and convert baskets around the rim is pretty hard to find.

The Pistons fans called Daye, the Scarecrow. I'm assuming that when he was given the minutes there to play. He didn't either utilized them or maybe was scared or something. Anyways, it seems like he's taking advantage of them now. And Tay's coming along for the ride with 17pts already.

The Wolves trying to get a run going. Not the time to screw up in the fourth quarter.

More wins the better. The Grizz did good holding the Wolves at bay. Now Sactown awaits this team. Can they make this 3 in a row?

I like what I saw. Hollins clearly directed the team to run more pick and roll. Daye and Prince were the beneficiaries of the strategy, as they got myriad good looks due to good ball movement.

I think Daye was thrown in as an expiring, but his size and outside shooting touch make him a good prospect. He could become a similar player to Prince.

Our second unit - Wroten, Bayless, Daye, Davis, and Arthur, is playing well right now. I wonder who gets squeezed out of the rotation once Q is 100%.

If it's Wroten, that could be problematic, because Bayless isn't a good PG. But Daye is probably a better overall player than Wroten right now.

I suppose it's a good problem to have though. Maybe we could afford to just rest our starters more and play an 11 man rotation. Zach and Marc especially need to be fresh and 100% healthy once the playoffs start.

Well alright! Rudy's replacements definitely got it done. If we see more of this down the road then I guess I could get on board with the move.

I have never heard any of my fellow Pistons fans refer to Daye as "the scarecrow". Austin didnt have a good career with Detroit but he had finally cracked the rotation and was playing well for us off the bench. He looks like he's finding some success with you guys thus far as well, hopefully he keeps it up. But he is not a Prince type player nor will he ever be. Daye is a poor mans Gallinari/Anderson at this point, but his ceiling is as high as those two aforementioned guys.

I don't think you guys have lost much of anything with Rudy out, Prince/Daye can more than fill the void- they both looked great tonight and this is only the beginning IMO.

You guys will figure out quick why we let go of daye,he will have a couple of good games and then BAMM,its as if he forgot how to play basketball. He is a decent shooter when he wants to be,but hes to soft, terrible handles always turning the ball over on dumb plays and his defense is weak.Hopefuly he will keep produceing for you guys because after 1 bad game his confidence will plummet and lets just say you will start out scratching your heads then throwing a hammer thru your tv.

Well he was considered a throw-in, anyway. I'd love to get lucky on another throw-in, like we did with Marc Gasol. Or like Randolph when the Clips gave him to us for free.

Hell our whole team is comprised of guys nobody wanted.
