P.S. I wish Pera would read this board more closely. lol

That would probably rejuvenate the board. Also a lot of the people on here are really knowledgeable, so Pera might get more out of it than just fan-feedback.

No doubt. I'm not a member of the "other board," but I read it frequently - and the superior knowledge of the posters here (albeit we're smaller in number) is clear. Half the posters on the "other board" clearly have no idea how the business-side of the NBA (i.e. the CBA, luxury tax, and revenue sharing) works and impacts the decisions that have been made or could be made by the Grizz.

I suppose its that the business side of basketball is a little more foreign than the other sports. The soft cap, the salary-matching rules (in trades), cap exceptions, sign-and-trade agreements, the rookie-salary-scale... it's kind of a convoluted system when you think about it.

Very true - the other thing about the other board is that everyone is a Memphis homer who thinks we'd win the NBA championship if we'd just sign Joey Dorsey, CDR, and any other UofM fringe NBA player.

Sometimes it get to the point where ppl have to take off the blue shades. This city is full of Tiger diehards which can be taken with a grain of salt. Common sense have to come to play. People can't expect that the Grizz will bring in former Tigers players and expect them to produce a championship right away. It doesn't work that way.

Why would we want Ben Gordon when our team is all about character? Tony Allen, Zach Randolph, and Hollins would not tolerate his antics.
darkangle901 wrote:Yeah I just perused that board a bit and its dumb.
Talking about trading for Ben Gordon, which is more or less impossible without trading away better players, and doesn't make a ton of sense anyway with Bayless on the team. "Charlotte can eat some of his salary" blah blah.
Also says something like "Could Austin Daye be our next star SF?"
Glad to be a part of the "smart" board.
