As most of us saw on Saturday vs. the Warriors, Joerger went with an 8 man rotation for the game due to the Grizzlies struggles into the season. Although we drummed the Warriors afterthey played 4 games in 5 nights, will the 8 man rotation hold in the long run or will they eventually have to find other methods to get some results from the others?

Just to touch on the bench.

To me, Q-Pon is possible. He was on Verno's show back in early October. He was talking about proving himself as a better contributor on the squad. This was in response to the new NBA2K14 game that came out last month. His rating is a 60 overall. Which obviously pissed him off. Right now, he's only averaging 4.6pts, 1.2rebs, and shooting 31% from beyond the arc and FG% respectively. I think his issue of trying too hard to overcome that ranking he feels he didn't deserves may have gone to his head and is not allowing the game to come to him as a result. Q-Pon can do a hell of a lot better than what he's capable of.

Ed Davis for all the hype I've heard from Raptors fans is just that. HYPE!! This guy has the same label that Stromile Swift and Sheldon Williams were stapled with. POTENTIAL! These guys were drafted high in the draft and have the potential to be solid players in the league. If the NBA took stats on potential; These guys would be somewhere in the top ten.

Davis didn't do much to prove he is starter material when Zbo left the game the other day. He looked slow and out of touch and mostly unimpressive.

Then again, it was just one game and I am, personally, quite big on Davis. If the rumours of trading ZBo are true then this guy must get his chance to start PF.

This doesn't really answer your question, I know, but it's just a thought I wanted to get out.

both Ed Davis and Q had abysmal games last night when called upon. Q was 0-4 in 7 minutes. Davis 2-8. He did have 2 blocks but 2 fouls. That ain't going to cut it. Might get by in Toronto with that but this is the big leagues. I say let him spend some time on the Dakota Wizards to let him figure it out. IMO every minute Davis gets is minutes Koufos, Leuer, or Willie Reed should get

As for Willie Reed, he was waived after training camp.

I don't think it works yet with so much uncertainty and lack of consistent performances from all parties.

If 3 guys were bringing it each night then I'm great with those 3 + the starters. I've always enjoyed seeing all the players go in and letting your stars rest. I think if you are in the NBA you can contribute for a few minutes every night and help the team. You may not be able to carry the whole load without the talent of Mike Conley or a Gasol but there is always a time and a place for a guy like Dante Cunningham, Greivis Vasquez, Quincy Pondexter, hell maybe even a time for Ed Davis (garbage time??).... No reason to restrict the rotation IMO. Yes it boosts some of the established players egos and gives them more PT but I think they pros and should deal with it. Your overall team effort will be better if you share minutes up and down the bench. It has to be better than what we're seeing.

In other words -- right now we need all the weapons we have and we need them SHARPENED
