If memphis does go deep in the playoffs such as conference finals or the finals, what do you think the chance are they let calathes walk and bring in Janis Timma. I would really like to get Timma over here see what he's got, he has apparently picked up his game since we drafted him.

He has played for us in past Summer Leagues, if I´m not mistake, and he was not very effective

Ya, definitely something to consider, its like the raptors who now have Noguiera (even though imo he is not a bad 3rd center option, like he deserves to be on maybe half the teams, but he isnt great) Also have to figure out if we trade for a win now piece and deal with Gasol's massive contract later , most likely going over the luxury tax, or if we just let the cap off the books take the risk that we could have gotten better , but we wont be over the luxury. I would take the risk on even a 6th man even if it put us over the luxury next year, but i doubt it does and here is why:

Z-bo's contract decreases a lot
Cap is increased next year
The grizzlies actually have a decent pay grade on their players such as Allen and Lee and Q-pon, all on great value contracts

So in conclusion:

Would I trade prince and another piece (adams, timma, etc) for a 6th man? ALL DAY (and when I say 6th man please note that is relative, I like our starting 5 and I dont see allen coming off the bench he is most useful with playing with our starters, so probably a starter on another team playing 6th man for us, sort of like OJ Mayo in 2011, cept not a SG... we are log jammed enough.)

Maybe Jeff Green for all he's worth come be the Grizzlies 6th Man if traded here. Like how Aaron McKie was for the 76ers during the mid-part of his career.

Actually gave that some thought before reading your post, when I saw the above poster's web link article and it spurred me to think of a trade like this, which imo is actually pretty fair for all 3 teams, but I think it would be something they would do if both of them were not making the playoffs this year closer to the trade deadline.

Memphis gets win now pieces with a solid backup stretch center and Green, Gee is a cap dump.

Boston gets Koufus as a defending center for them and they get adams, point taken they don't need adams I get that, but as seen before in threads, Ainge is in acquirement mode, and it doesnt mean adams or someone else isnt dealt later, but this gives them a defensive center and cap.

Denver doesnt have to blow up there roster completely yet, they can still salvage from it or make other trades, but this gives them a piece in Prince who can secure them much needed cap moving forward

Janis Timma is a player in Lativa owned by the Grizzlies, the trade is basically to give them his contract for cap relief and that is it, his skills are subpar, so his contract can go to either team. Its the contract of a late second rounder, so its not much, about 450-500k, doesn't really affect the trade value, but gives one team or the other a bit more cushion outside the luxury tax.

The thing with Jannis Timma, if I recall correctly is that he struggles with athleticism which the NBA is full of, so granted he may improve in Europe but forever be a liability in this league.

Timma is another Sergey Lischuk, just not a NBA material. I woudn´t call him a "piece". As I can see, in the actual stage our team is, the only tradeable players are Prince, Adams (just for the right piece), Stokes and Calathes. I woudn´t look to trade Leuer right now, for what it matters.

You're on the right track Z. The Celts in my opinion have players at every position cover. It's jus that the pieces are not matching. I wonder if Celts would be good with Prince and a 2016 second round pick for Green straight up?
