According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Grizzlies are nearing an agreement to send Tayshaun Prince and a future 1st round pick to th Celtics to get back Jeff Green in return.

I say go for it Grizzlies.

Update: There will be a third team involved in the deal according to Wojo. The name of the team is currently unknown.

Should be a great pick up for you guys. Green can't be the man, should be a lot less pressure on him in Memphis.

You guys hearing anything about the third team? We're assuming Memphis wants to shave money off the luxury tax and dump a salary..

And agreed about Green. He always disappointed in Boston because we wanted him to be an all-star, but he's a nice player, especially as a third or fourth option where he can fly under the radar.

I agree. Sometimes we as fans develop the tendency to put expectations on certain players with good to great skills and think they are capable of being the main player on the squad. We Grizz fans thought the same way with Pau Gasol when he was here. In-spite his talents, Pau was not enough to get the Grizz over the threshold to contender status with all the playoff losses they accumulated. Like Green, Pau for all his worth is a great complimentary piece to the right team with the right chemistry and determination to make the team better and become better contenders in the playoffs who inspire to get to the NBA Finals.

As for the third team, I still haven't heard anything on who the third team is. I also hear that Ainge maybe driving a hard bargain for some reason on local radio here in Memphis. Can't confirm that's truly Ainge's rep to do something like that or what.

Yeah, that's his rep.. I'm sure he's still haggling over something- protections on the pick; Jordan Adams; Koufos..

If that's the case, maybe I can see this idea for a third team being involved. I know the Grizz can't afford to trade Koufos right now. As for Adams, unless the right deal was to come along, I feel the right thing to do is to hold on to him as well. I would like to see the Grizzlies to develop their own draft picks for a change instead of this one and out business they tend to do with most of their draft picks.

It's most likely that they roped someone in to take Nelson from Boston or one of your wings like Poindexter.. Less likely is that it expands the trade significantly..

You might have a point on Nelson on that one. I wonder if Philly or NOP is involve here. Philly for salary dump. NOP could use a PG as a backup. Not too convince if Austin Rivers is getting the job done.

Philly would need some incentive to take Nelson.. NOP I could see.. I could also see Prince to New Orleans, but I think that would be reported on if it were in play..

Now I'm curious. Prince to NOP for whom?

Don't know, it's unlikely- but they're one of the teams, with LAC and Toronto, that desperately needs a big small forward..

Congratulations to the Memphis Grizzles on winning the 2015 NBA championship.

If I'm the Raps and Clips, I'm keepin my eye on Wilson Chandler since it appears that Denver maybe blowing it up at this point. Detroit might get in on this as well in-spite of them not being in the playoff picture right now. They have been playing better since the post-Josh Smith era has commence.

Can't jump ahead just yet. The Grizz need another SF and a more suitable backup PF to spell Z-Bo when he hits the bench for a few minutes.

Yup, that makes sense to me.. And probably a reason Boston moved on this deal now. But once Chandler gets dealt (or doesn't), there are only so many small forwards left on the market.. I actually like that aspect of the deal for Boston- you guys had to deal for a better 3, but if you'd been rebuilding, you might've found a taker for Prince..

I still have faith that Leuer will be the #2 PF. Most of his problems are in his head and I think he can get around that.

The only guy that scares me is Qpon. He's reached his potential, at least with us, and he's injury prone. Any marginal upgrade over him will be welcome.

More to the reason why this current deal makes sense for both sides to makes. Each team benefits greatly from skils set to finance wise.

Perfect spot for Green. Can start at the 3, be a match up problem as a stretch 4. Another SF LAC misses out on.

I haven't been that high on Q-Pon like most ppl I've talked with during Q-Pon's time as a Grizzly. I felt that with his history of injuries that this past offseason would've been a great time to move off his deal while the timing is good. If the Grizz can still find a team willing to take on Q-Pon's deal to get back a player of substance, it would be great for the Grizzlies to use it to their advantage.
