Coach J was not going to trust him more than Kosta and backup point guard was a need, so we can give them a Mulligan on this one.
Are you talking about kalin lucas? We could've just as well put any of the shooting guards as backup point, kalin is basically a 6'0 sg anyway.
No. The grizzlies messed up, no excuses, no mulligan or whatever for them. The knock on whiteside was always him being a weakling, lack of dedication and bball iq. That's why the kings gave up on him. He got his mind right, added a bunch of muscle and became a monster in the dleague (i know i know... poor competition) and pretty good in summer league for us. It should've been a no brainer, there's not that many 25yo lengthy 7'0 250lbs people with that mix of strength AND athleticism running around on this planet, maybe a dozen of them around that age. It's what they call winning the genetic lottery. I don't care how dumb he may or may not be: rebounding, blocking shots and dunking aren't rocket science. Not to mention that the team didn't (still don't) have a third string center which you'd think could come in quite handy given marc's injury history in recent years.
I wonder who made that decision, the gm? Honestly,he should just make me an assistant and start to look good. (semi-serious)
