WOJ is saying Pelicans could buy out williams, he is a 3/4 who's main deal is to knock down the 3 ball off the bench , (think Kyle Singler) could be a great asset for memphis going into the playoffs, but we will either have to let Jamychal Green go or cut a player (Calathes is probably odd man out in that situation, which I hate , because Russ is crazy, he is good, he just isnt crazy good yet and Id rather have calathes being 3rd point option , but williams is a very tempting offer to release him, or go with a slightly different mantra and let Leur go and play more of a stretch 4 backing up Z-bo with Green, Green and WIlliams and Stokes in reserve

If DJ did go with a stretch bench lineup, maybe this will convince him to bring Jeff off the bench to play the 3-4 and play Conley/Lee/TA/Z-bo/Gasol starting and could look into having a special situations lineup of Conley/TA/Green/Koufos/Gasol to play a couple minutes in some games against very offensive opponents or teams like OKC when they run a Westbrook/Waiters/Durant/Ibaka/Kanter lineup. Conley-Westbook/TA-Durant/Waiters-Green/Koufos-Kanter/Gasol-Ibaka the amount of mismatches in size and abilities that causes is just great.

Conley(32)/Udrih (14)/ Calathes (8)/ Russ (0)
Lee (25)/Adams(8)/Carter(8)
TA (25)/Jeff (25)/Williams (8)
Z-BO(32)/Jamychal(5)/Stokes(0)
Gasol(32)/Koufos(18)

Excellent shooter and a great teammate but a net-negative most of the time given his ineptitude on defensive.

Ya, but in memphis I think he can hide plenty of that if he just plays a few minutes a night off the bench raining 3s to space the floor

Why try to fix what no one seems to think is broken?

If the front office did not think we need another shooter, or they have faith that Vince will return and make a contribution, it doesn't make sense to think we can find a shooter on the street that is better than what we have or at minimum will crack the rotation. Most are unemployed for a reason and not just circumstance.

Memphis is however pursuing him since he is a Memphis native and would bring good outside shooting to the club
