As of right now, this thread has more lurkers than responses. I know this board is as quiet as they come, but come on ppl. This is the season opener against the Cavs. A team who is still considered to go all the way to the Finals to represent the East in 2016. This team cannot be underestimated because they have key injuries on their roster and the fact they swept the Grizzlies last season. The first 10 games will not be easy for the Grizzlies and this first game vs. the Cavs proves this point. So it's important for the Grizzlies to get off to a strong start to kick off the year and fight for a trip to NBA Finals through the most challenging and daunting Western Conference. Considering this team has been in the playoffs for five straight seasons, game threads like these deserve better devotion and responses to a perennial team like the Grizzlies. So to all Grizzlies lurkers and posters(myself included) alike, can we all do a better this season by showing our participation in these threads and on the board as well.

Go Grizzlies!

So far a rough start for the Grizzlies as they are down early in the game 28-10.

Grizzlies need to do a better all around thru better rebounding, better man to man defense and get some offense going.

Not much to say, it's an ugly game with lots of sloppy play. Cleveland being on fire doesn't help either.

Btw, considering he's buried on the bench, i guess vince lied a couple weeks ago when he basically said he has no injury issues at this point, disappointing.

Hey! Congrats! She's a cute baby. Probably the brightest spot the game since the Grizzlies still dragging om the start.

I know a lot of the Grizzlies fan base was sorely disappointed with Vince's poor 1st year with the team and honestly I expected Vince to get scrap/left over minutes this year (10 minutes a game) but he was a Coach's DNP so either he's hurt (nothing to say that is true) or DJ, like the fanbase, has already lost any faith in Vince. If that is the case, then should just try & unload his remaining contract to a team that still believes the guy can still play - a guy who is a career 37% 3pt shooter and 3 years before going to the Grizzlies was a pivotal bench player for the Mavs and had good 3pt %'s of 36% / 41% / 39% - this guy didn't suddenly forget to shoot!

There's a reason why 3pt's go to Memphis to die - it's the system that is still "old school" and is looking more & more every year out-of-date despite what DJ says about new wrinkles in the offense - once anything negative happens this bunch reverts to their plodding / dent the floor with the ball pounding offense...they won't take advantage of Wright's legit medium jump shooting ability (all you hear from reporters is he can dunk & only effective within 2' of the rim which says they really have a shallow/lazy uninformed opinion of what Wright is).

I know Green kinda sucks for Grizz too - but having a frontcourt of Gasol / Randolph / Allen won't work unless you make Gasol a stretch 5 and that's taking away from his strengths inside - Allen can't play with these guys because he can't stretch out the defense and they just cheat off him & clog the paint & make it difficult for inside play/inside passes/inside pnr to work as effectively. I really think this team goes nowhere with DJ as their coach - he's an average NBA coach and this team is in win now mode and needs a superior NBA Coach to bring them to championship contender, DJ will not be that guy.

Let's see how Gasol plays vs Mahinmi tongiht - dude was bullied & frustrated by the Raptors Jonas physical play - but Gasol has a tendency to play a soft game and that is exactly what Pacers starting C wants. George also looked like garbage but this pacers team has legit 3pt threats in Hill & Miles. Hopefully Monta can shoot them out of the game with contested 2's all game long...

Terrible start. Now we´ll finish the season with only 81-1, bummer.
