I will dedicate this thread to any draft rumors that concerns the Grizzlies.
First rumor comes from the last few days with the Grizzlies making a promise to Syracuse SG Malachi Richardson to draft him on Thursday during the NBA Draft.

Given the Grizzlies past drafts on promising players if made available by the time of their selection, is this a confirmed possibility or just another coincidence?

Re: Grizzlies Draft/Trade Rumors
FILE THIS UNDER PURE SPECULATION:
I think a trade is highly likely prior to the start of free agency, but probably on draft day/night. The potential trade partner is a team that needs to clear more cap space or needs a rotational playmaker. I think the Grizz can still trade Lance Stephenson prior to making a decision regarding his contract. Toronto holds the #9 pick and may be willing to deal it and or Terrence Ross, whose salary goes up to 10 million next season, which works a lot better for the Grizzilies, because they get a controlled athletic wing without having to over pay which is the goal this off season. I don't know if in this scenario Memphis would retain the #17, but it would be a coup to do a deal and still be able to draft Valentine or Richardson.
