Happy thanksgiving!

Not really a tradition here in Europe but still, according to the movies and tv series it looks very important to you all.

I wonder why that tradition has not come over to Europe (and Spain where I live at the moment) Here they already have Halloween, Santa Claus, Black Friday-cyber monday among some others but there is no clue about thanksgiving so far. Needless to say that I enjoyed some turkey at lunch, it wasnt the full and nice meal, just some Turkey with peppers and onions

With Thanksgiving, it's more of an American custom that started with the Pilgrims and Indians in the 1600s if I'm correct. With the other holidays you mentioned, I think it started in some parts of Europe and spread Westward towards North America later on in years. Like Halloween customs branched off of Celtic countries and Santa Claus was based on multiples of characters such as Saint Nicholas, a Greek Christian bishop or Father Christmas of England, or some folklore of Dutch origins. Very astounding when you read this stuff.
