NBA Holiday is here!

Post#1 » by dark-child » Thu Dec 15, 2016 1:28 pm

Woo Hoo its December 15th and finally players signed to off season free agent contracts can be traded. Hence ESPN’s trade machine is fully functional.

Issues for the Grizz:
What move can be made to keep the best point guard on the roster not named Mike Conley Jr = Toney Douglas?
Does the organization really believe that Jamychal Green is the PF of the present & future and worth 10 – 12 million per year, when you are still going to re-sign Zach Randolph for probably another 2-year deal?
Is the wing depth for real or just a product of necessity/next man up?
Brandon Wright, should he stay or should he go?

What do you mean with Toney Douglas. Isnt he staying till the end of the season? When we signed him, i thought it was till the end...

About Green and ZBO, yep, id resign them both. tho i am still waiting for Green to step up. Just a little bit more.

Brandan Wright... Sometimes I even forget about him. Last year I could not watch many grizzs games, so... did he help at all? What can he do with 15-18 mins as Gasol Back up?? Should we give those minutes to Deyonta and see if he can actually become a real and usefull rim protector? show me what can we get for him and ill think about it...

Toney Douglas was acquired with an injury exception as the roster was already at 15 players. The exception calls for him to be added on ten day increments provided the team has 4 or more players out at least 3 consecutive games. His ten days expired yesterday and he was released as both Mike Conley Jr. and James Ennis are returning tonight.

As for Brandon Wright, he has played a grand total of 12 games since he was signed last off season so no one can really say what he will bring and that is the rub. "When is it time to cut bait before his situation resembles Jordan Adams"?

Devonta Davis is now out from 6 - 8 weeks with a torn plantar fascia, which makes the need for a serviceable big man all the more pressing.

The question I have is can Memphis put together a package around Brandon Wright & JaMychal Green going to Philly for either Nerlens Noel or Jalil Olafor? Either or available at the right price.

Jusuf Nurkic and the undesired contract of either Danillo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, or Kenneth Faried may be plausible but Denver has the pieces to trade for an All-Star and may be waiting for that opportunity. Larger contracts are harder to trade for from a Memphis perspective because we have so few assets with high salaries that we would be willing to part with and thus the conundrum.
