First of all, sorry I am late. I meant to do this yesterday.

It was year 99 when I decided to buy myself the first NBA jersey. When I got to the shop, the options were limited. By that time in Spain, nba was barely on the media. Not even Pau Gasol arrived to the league.

So I decided to buy the jersey of that flashy dunker from Toronto, second year in the league and you already knew he would be a hall of famer. MR Vince Carter.

18 seasons later, being 40 years old. He can still play ball. Raptors, nets, magic, suns and mavs before ending up with the Grizzlies.

http://wreg.com/2014/07/14/grizzlies-free-agent-signee-vince-carter-on-why-he-chose-memphis/ He could have chosen a contender to get what any nba player would want: The ring. However, he chose us. Not really a contender but one of those teams that nobody would want to match up with in playoffs. Signed to be a leader and a mentor to young players but still, in a successful team, because of that, he earned my respect forever.

Some Records:

24th in the scoring leaders list. Just about to surpass HOF players like Allen Iverson, Ray Allen and Pat Ewing,
17th in games played (This season he will pass Bryant and Payton at least)
5th in three points made. (Not bad for the best dunker of all time)

Some VC videos with the Grizzs jersey:

Hard to believe he's 40 years old. He brings so much to a team just because of the amount of games he's played. There's not much Vince hasn't seen in this league. Seeing old stars chase rings and break down before retiring is hard, so seeing Vince go out like a man, a role player on a competitive team who actually contributes, is great. And who knows if he's done this year, he could easily play another two years IMO.

I wanted to add a couple more of Moments in Vinsanity! The Olympics Dunk in 2001 has to be my all time favorite. I remember just coming home from school that Friday in September. Just turned on the T.V. because I knew the Mens Basketball was playing at that time. Let's just say that 10 minutes later, I saw the best dunk ever at that time when Vinsanity skyrocketed over Frederick Weiss and slammed that baby home. That dunked defined Vinsanity, destroyed Weiss career, and aerodynamics all in the same day.! :o
