When you start that bad, you can only hope to get close in the final minutes, and at that time, anything can happen in nba. Anybody can score fading away over two bigs with 1 second to go. Even a guy called Anthony Davis.
S.Hill averaging 6 points goes on a 5/6FGM in the first quarter, Alex ajinca get 10 boards and 3 steals and a block in the first half. Holiday did as he pleased with Conley, who could only guard him 3fts from behind, Needless to say that Gasol,Zbo nor Green were ready to help.
Trailing most of the game by 10 or 15 points, then you manage to get close to one or two possesion game. (most of it because of Douglas and Zbo)
Lets see our options... P&R gasol-conley, Gasol in the low or high post, Zbo in the post, set Ennis or Troy Daniels in the corners...
Then Fizdale thoughts, why not set screens for a 40yo coming off from many blocks to jump over the defender with a few seconds to go? seems ok for me. Lets do it....... Wow, It didnt work, lets try again in the next play.... What? it didnt work either? no problem, lets swallow the loss, it was a tough game, we did our best...

Where was Mr First-team all-defense?
0-4 from the the field, three turnovers, no steals or blocks. While the superallstar he was matching with(Hill), 8-11FG (4-6 3PM)for 23 points and 2 steals, no turnovers.
He even made Dinwiddie look like a decent nba player!

The performance was all too familiar.

The perimeter defense has been an issue for too long now. The Grizzlies for some dumb reasons have always allowing the opponents unassuming players like Hill and Dekker from the Rockets game get career highs against the Grizzlies. I have yet to understand the reasons why don't they cover better on defense. We should've done a better job handling this game with much better results.
