The Boston Celtics have received interest on sign-and-trade scenarios for Marcus Smart from the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets.
Smart has already met with the Nets.
The Celtics have had zero communication with Smart. A source close to Smart says he's been "unresponsive" because he is “insulted by what he feels is a lack of respect by front office.”
Smart has a limited restricted free agent market with teams lacking cap space and the Celtics widely expected to match any reasonable offer.

Re: Grizzlies Interested in a Sign and Trade for Marcus Smart
I too don't know if this is FAKE NEWS, Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace doing his former employer a solid, or a strategic play from an organization (Grizzlies) not known for making strategic moves, or Danny Ainge playing Chess while others continue playing Checkers?
If it is the latter than Ainge could have his eye on the Grizzlies over $13 million in expiring contracts (J. Green, B. McLemore) to sign Kyrie next year. Marcus Smart fits the culture of the Grizzlies and having a reserve Point Guard capable of being a starter when Mike Conley takes his annual pilgrimage to the DL, has been a need for a long time. Marcus Smart has stated previously he is looking for north of 10 million a year so deal of 4 yrs (Sign & trades have to be at minimum two years and to get people to come south, the Grizz have to offer at least 4 years) 50 million for J. Green and B. McLemore would give all three parties what they are looking for.
The Brooklyn Nets pulled off a late night trade that seems to indicate they are not pursuing him as an option.

I heard that Memphis was just kicking the tires on Smart before they got Anderson. This shouldn't amount to anything.
