Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
I haven't found a source I feel is really credible, but Gasol to Portland was mentioned and a lot of people feel Gasol to Charlotte makes sense even though no reported talks have occurred.

It's the first time I heard a Gasol trade to Portland. I wonder who's involved? Plus on the Charlotte trade, if it involves Biyombo, he never impress me at all. Even going back to his first tour with Charlotte. Although he was a factor with the Raptors, it was due to his contract year. The fact he was compared to Ben Wallace was something I didn't bother to get behind in the first place. I believe there is a better deal for Gasol somewhere. Where is that trade is anyone's guess.

Biyombo is nothing more than salary filler in the Charlotte deal and is a negative value. That is part of the reason Charlotte would do a deal. Trade bad money for Gasol at the expense of some assets. Biyombo would then be an expiring next season if someone wants to dump salary again.

Two types of offers I'm looking at there for Gasol from Charlotte:
Biyombo, Lamb, and 2019 FRP
or
Biyombo, Kaminsky, Monk, and 2019 FRP
Biyombo-dead money next season expiring
Lamb- backup perimeter and decent slasher, expiring
Kaminsky - Pat Garrity Ryan Anderson category big man perimeter shooter and decent rebounder, team option
Monk- potential Lou Williams type player scorer
If I'm forced to go for a Charlotte deal, maybe the second deal as it has more assets. You get to add a scorer in Monk. Spread out more on the perimeter with Kaminsky, if possible, defensive rebounds and defense from Biyombo I guess and sweetner with the FRP

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
The Brandon Knight rumor caught me off guard, but then if the costs to move Chandler Parsons is with a first round pick, then it does make a little sense. I would not give Houston JaMychal Green & Garret Temple (which is probably what they want) but I would be willing to reroute Ricky Rubio which is basically the same money.
As for Gasol, he is pissed and ready to move on. Once his mind is made up, and he has come to terms with moving on, he has got to go, so THEY BETTER FIND A DEAL, they like and move him.
The Grizz Front Office aims so low that I am pretty sure they are not overturning ever stone to see what is available. They put themselves in this position so now they have to come thru.
I would prefer the following deals:
Conley & JAM to Denver for Paul Milsaps, Michael Porter Jr. and either a 1st rounder or Jamal Murray
Gasol & Shelvin Mack to Dallas for Harrison Barnes
JaMychal Green to Denver for Trey Lyles and Malik Beasley
or
Garrett Temple & JaMychal Green to Philly for Markelle Fultz & Mike Muscalla
Justin Holliday to New York for Frank Ntillinka

Justin Holliday to New York for Frank Ntillinka - I doubt NYK are trying to salary dump Frank

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
So a rough recap of the info I've seen.
Conley:
Utah: Rubio+filler+1st+MAYBE 2nd
Detroit: Jackson+filler+1st+MAYBE Kennard
Toronto: Lowry+Val+Delon Wright+2021 1st (for Gasol+Conley)
Gasol:
Charlotte: No official offer but media speculate they should EDIT: They are officially having talks now.
Detroit: Drummond
Portland: There was a report of an "aggressive offer" made for Gasol but it was never verified
Green & Temple:
Houston: Knight+1st
Portland: Showed interest in one or both (likely Green)
Charlotte: Showed interest in one or both (likely Green)
Lakers: Small interest in Temple
Philly: Haven't seen reports but media think they'd likely have interest in both

Feel bad seeing this go down. End of an era for the Grizz. I'll never forget those Memphis/OKC playoff battles.

Agreed though if we are being honest (hindsight is 20/20) the era ended when we let Tony Allen and ZBo go.

Totally agree. I will remember the battles against spurs and clipps but specially against OKC. The day Mccollum elbowed Conley's face... that was our last playoff run. That year we had a legit shot at defeating Durant-less Warriors Champions. After that elbow it all goes down.
Will the FO fail again to trade Marc? Remember what happened with tyreke! that was embarrasing. Guess it will happen again, Marc will opt out this summer because of what the FO is doing to him. He will sign a Cousins' contract before staying for 25.5mill.
But it is ok, FO will stay there making this kind of magic and everyone will be blamed but them. We need to trade the whole FO.

"Take that for Data!"

You'd have to attach multiple 1sts.

If the Charlotte offer is MKG and Biyombo, then we're honestly better letting Marc walk for nothing IMO (assuming there are no other offers out there for him).

Completely agree though I think a 1st was also involved. I just feel like there was maybe a different offer on the table. Maybe talks will kick back up soon.

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
Memphis should strongly consider this...
RealGMJazz Offering Ricky Rubio, Derrick Favors, FRP To Grizzlies For Mike Conley
The Utah Jazz are attempting to acquire Mike Conley from the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Jazz are offering Ricky Rubio, Derrick Favors and one first round pick.
The Jazz believe Conley would be an ideal fit in the back court alongside Donovan Mitchell.
The Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons also have interest in Conley.

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
If the CHA deal is made as it is being talked about, that is totally asinine. Neither player has any value, and their options are two much for them to turn down. There are better deals out there for Gasol. This deal would show that the front office is inept at best.
Any Gasol trade has to generate two things, continued cap space an a #1.
I have no problem trading Temple or Holiday for a loaf of bread and a #2 pick.
Conley to Utah seems very viable, but I would want both there #1 and #2 with no protection. Even though we would have rights on Rubio, he could walk next year. Favors is a team option. I love the idea of 2 #1's for Conley.
We still need to move Chandler, and that will cost us a #1 pick.
JAM needs to stay on the Grizz. He has more value to us than another team.
I am of the mindset that if we should be able to at least end up with 2 #1's, and a couple of #2's. If we can eliminate the salaries of Conley and Chandler without taking back salary, we would only have about $18M on the books for next year. If JJJ can get more meaningful minutes and Brooks gets back in shape, we could have 4 #1's on the team to develop and build around. JJJ is under contract until 22/23.

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
The Grizzlies are suppose to be continuing talks with Charlotte. If a deal goes down then so be it. If not, the Grizzlies need to pick up the pace. Otherwise, this will be an even bigger insult to Gasol and the franchise for not getting the job done on finding a suitable deal to satisfy both teams. Personally, I'm still on the train of retaining Conley for at least one more year. If not, then the Utah deal with Rubio being rerouted to another team will have to suffice.
As for Green and Temple, the odds are likely they will not come back. It's best to get a trade for both guys now or risk losing them for nothing.
As for Parsons, I think the stretch provision is the route they will take regardless.
The front office needs to be reset in the off-season in order for this rebuild to go in the direction it needs to go.

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
Houston offers Shump, 2021 & 2022 2nds and whatever cash we have left for either Green or Temple.
It ain't much but if nothing else comes up and yall have zero interest in bringing either back, could be better then nothing.
I understand due to the Grizz tax situation, this could only be done if cap savings is made through a separate trade. Perhaps yall could get that done with a Conely or Gasol deal though.

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
The rubio-favors for conley I dont see it just yet. Short term... Id hate to watch Rubio in a grizz jersey.
Marc for Biyombo and MKG... i dont know, thats the best we can get? seriously? Gasol needs to go out but for some reason that deal seems unfair.
Ive heard as well a Lowry-valanciunas for Conley-gasol. Too bad it didnt go down. As for the grizzs it didnt make much sense, however, I would love to see those two making it to the nba finals. Picture Marc&mike next to Khawi-Ibaka-Green. Not following the raptors lately but I know Khawi and what he is able to do. He destroyed us in our last playoff series.
As for Parsons... How is the option of cutting him? Pay him what he is owed and good luck making a new contract. Id never trade him along with a 1st. Never ever. Everytime I think we traded our first to Boston for Jeff Green....
We are not contending anytime soon, therefore, we must keep our first rounds no matter what.
In addition to that, Picture our FO with cap space... i see us giving over 20mill to players like Julius Randle, Ener Kanter or Rubio. Not sure if we want capspace

Re: 2019 Grizzlies Trade Deadline Trade Rumors
It’s a frustrating situation to be in when your team has gotten to this point where rebuilding is the inevitable option. The main things I pray for today is that the past gets place in the rearview for good and look forward to getting useful young players and draft picks back in return. And get a new front office and owner to boot.
