Currently with the Grizzlies season ending tonight. The Grizzlies will continue to rebuild the team. The question according to this latest article is should the Grizzlies do a traditional rebuild or should they do a more accelarate rebuild. The Grizzlies have not been in the playoffs for three seasons now. They have struggle to win enough games with the motivation to convey the 2019 pick that is owe to the Boston Celtics from the 2015 trade involving Jeff Green.

The only way the Grizzlies can convey the owe pick was to win 34 games to lessen the chances of keeping the pick. They lostthe opportunity when the allowed the Detroit Pistons make a comeback victory win on Tuesday night. The real way the Grizzlies will have their chance to convey the pick is to await the 2019 Draft Lottery Show later in May to determine whether or not they will convey the pick or not.

Also another inevitable point to be made is the matter of trading Mike Conley this offseason. MC11 has been a Grizzly since his draft year of 2008. He has come a long way towards making a name for himself. He may not have been selected as an All-Star this late into his career. However, he's this city's All-Star regardless. The Grizzlies and Conley will look to part ways mutual and to look for best trade scenarios that best fit both sides. Whatever happens with Mike Conley from here will be anyone's guess. I will say thank you to Mike Conley for his eleven years in the Memphis Blue and wish him well for the next team he will play for come the 2019-20 NBA season.

In the dream case scenario we have a top 3 pick, convince Conley to stay and resign JV (70M/4 years), Wright (32/3), Holiday (17/2) and Noah (5/1) and aim for a 5th or 6th seed with Conley/AB/Anderson/JJJ/JV + Zion/Morant/Barrett and a strong bench.
In the not so good scenario we convey the pick to the Celtics, trade Conley for a lottery pick and a prospect and resign Wright and JV without overpaying them.
In the worst case scenario we pick in 8th, trade Conley for Lonzo Ball and Jason Hart (or similar package of not so good players), lost JV on FA and overpay Wright in a panic move.

The JV offer isn't terrible but that is still quite a bit of money. I'd try to offer him a bit less. I think Wright and Holiday are getting too much in your scenario as well. Wright shouldn't get more than MLE money and honestly I'd try to get him for a bit less since he is likely your 3rd guard. Maybe 6-8m per year. Holiday was terrible for us most of the season and I'm wary of late season stats on a bad team (MarShon looked like a god amongst men last year and then could barely get on the court for us this year). We also only have early bird rights on him so he is likely looking at 5-6m per year that we can offer unless we use the MLE. Noah we don't have rights on so he'd have to get part of the MLE to be resigned for anything much more than a min contract.

We also have to make sure to avoid the luxury tax since Pera & Co won't want to give up the non-luxury team money distribution. That's why we traded for Bradley instead of Knight+HOU 1st.

How do you guys figure Bruno fits in? He seemed to be having a good impact in the box score but it can be deceiving. I always thought he could be a really good 3 and D guy though.

I believe we have him under contract for next season. I think we will see how he looks this offseason/next year and go from there. He certainly has earned a chance to further prove himself.
